look: 2.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 3

11.2 ounce bottle Served very cold, poued into wide glass beer challis

A) Yikes -- tons of sediment/floaties. These remain active for a few minutes, circulating through out the glass. Hazy brass or or dull gold when held to the light. Long lasting ample 1 inch white head

S) Spicy, sweet malts. A waft of alcohol, this is clearly strong stuff. Cider, citrus & ginger spice

T)Notes of apple, pear, brown sugar & sweet malt. After a moment, a burn that warms the throat all the way down.

M) Lively carbonation, smooth but strong. Refreshing.

Pours hazy amber with a growing sudsy head.
Nose shows doughy yeast, candi sugar, light fruit (pears, white grapes) and soft phenols. Yeast really dominates here.
The flavours, unfortunately, are completely dominated by hot, solvent-like alcohol. Underneath is more doughy yeast.
Carbonation is way too high.

L: Pours a thick and unfiltered golden yellow color with a thick and huge white colored head that laces the glass a lot as it fades very slowly down the sides.
S: Smells of sweet malts, big citrus aromas mixed with alcohol and yeast aromas.
T: Tastes of sweet malts followed by a lot of different yeast flavors of orange, lemon, banana, herbs and spices, and a slight alcohol flavoring as well.
M: Heavy feeling and tasting, perfect amount of carbonation, warming, rich.
D: Pretty drinkable since it has such a high abv, the mix of flavors was nice and fruity.

33 cl bottle, served in Chimay goblet.
Pours w/ the typical Dolle Brouwers head, that is: massive, rocky and long-lived, much of the sediment not sinking through the head.
Cloudy dark gold w/ lots of sediment floating about. Highly aggressive, in-your-face taste dominated by hops and a good dose of yeast. Bitter and not for the faint of palate. A beer w/ tons of character.

Ok looking beer. I got the last bit of the bottle so mine is fairly yeasty, but I can see the color is very nice as is the head. Nice fine bubbles that mound up above the etched 'bubble making D' in my Duvel glass.

Nose is straight up 4 day old bananas and alcohol. Quite nice!!

Taste is a bit harsh. I mean kind of rough and bumpy so to speak, maybe solvent like...higher alcohols?? I get a touch of the banana esters and definately some nice alcohol warmth, but not very smooth at all and pretty dry. I think this could be sweetened up just a tad.

Decent mouthfeel for the style, nothing to rave about.

Not too drinkable with this harshness, maybe a bad bottle??

330 mL bottle without a vintage/freshness date. Pours a lightly hazed gold color with a massive soapy cap of off-white head. Fades slowly and leaves chunks of foam all over the place. Good looking beer.

Nose is grainy, alcoholic and a little bit like cream soda. Fruits galore.

Taste is hugely fruity and vinous, loads of alcohol. Too big for its own good? Maybe. The body is rich, but the malts light..which leaves alcohol and yeasty phenols picking up the slack. A little overcarbonated, but a few hard swirls fix that pretty quick. Yeast really throws its weight around here, I dont know if I have ever had a fruitier, yeast driven beer before. Interesting beer, but I dont think I would buy it again.

Bottled on 10/2013. $6.00/11.2oz. Poured into a tulip.

A solid tripel. IF you like a super dry finish this might be a tripel for you, otherwise a slight above average beer. 3.5

A – Pours a cloudy (-) orange amber, with a white two-finger dense mousey head that dissipates to a thin layer. Great Belgian lacing. 3

S – Spicy followed by some fruity notes. 3.5

T – Yeasty with some herbal hoppiness. 3.5

MF – Medium-light body with a real dry finish. Clean, fizzy, sharp. 3.5

A- Pours a brownish-yellow color with copious, sticky lace. Even with careful pouring, large amounts of sediment particles make their way into the glass.

S- Strong aroma of 20 year tawny Port, Sauternes, sweet white dessert wine, golden raisins, dried light fruits, licorice.

T- Tawny port, Sauternes, apricots, honey.

M, D- A touch of sticky-sweet viscosity followed by a hot ethanol finish might tend to moderate the drinkability a bit.

Note: I have opened many a gusher, but even with careful handling coming straight off the storage rack, this beer simply exploded unexpectedly upon opening, soaking my entire left side, part of the kitchen and two friends standing nearby. The spray shot outward for 3-4 feet in all directions, leaving only about 4-5 ounces to drink -- the rest on the floor or in the laundry. Mad Bitch indeed.
