Bottled on 10/2013. $6.00/11.2oz. Poured into a tulip.

A solid tripel. IF you like a super dry finish this might be a tripel for you, otherwise a slight above average beer. 3.5

A – Pours a cloudy (-) orange amber, with a white two-finger dense mousey head that dissipates to a thin layer. Great Belgian lacing. 3

S – Spicy followed by some fruity notes. 3.5

T – Yeasty with some herbal hoppiness. 3.5

MF – Medium-light body with a real dry finish. Clean, fizzy, sharp. 3.5

Pours a murky yellow-brown with a foamy beige head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Small chunks of sediment are seen floating around in the beer after the pour. Smell is of malt, honey, fruit, and yeast aromas. Taste is much the same with earthy malt and fruit flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of yeast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp and prickly mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that has flavors that are a bit more earthy than the smell would indicate.

Split a bottle of this with a friend at Brothers Beer Bistro. From notes.

A - Tons of suspended yeast floaters in a dark golden body. Obvious cloudiness. Half finger of white head left a film of retention and spotty lace.

S - Fruity, spicy, candied fruits, sweet, honey. Very complex and unlike any other Tripel I've smelled before.

T - Honey, very nice spice, lovely sweetness that wasn't overpowering but subtle and complimentary. Yeast. The sweetness, honey flavours, and yeast character were so nice.

M - Good mild carbonation, full body, and a lovely sweet pear finish.

O/D - Great stuff. Very nice and sweet but not cloying. So many layers. Definitely one of the better Tripels out there. Very drinkable but it took me a long time to get through half. Great stuff.
