The beer was crystal clear light amber with a perky nipple of a head (hey, the wife made up the term, not me) which lasted long and fell slowly to lace the glass.

The aroma was fruity and spicy with a strong peppery presence. The aroma was also lightly malty with a sweetness and a light bit of citrus with more spice.

The flavor was quite bitter and dry with a presence of earhtiness and peppery spice with low malt throughout the flavor.

The finish was dry with a peppery character and light spice into the aftertaste and beyond. The body was medium with a high carbonation level and a creamy mouthfeel. A truly excellent and great beer. The warming that occurred after consumption left me questioning the 7% ABV on the label.

33 cl bottle served in an Oerbier glass at t' Brugs Beertje in Brugge on 9/13/06. Told by the barkeep that it was relabeled Lichtervelds Blond, but the ABV's don't match up.

Brewed and bottled for Kaffee: www.kavijakskaffee.be as the label says. No freshnessdat though. Appearance is good as there is a nice white head and a pale golden beer under it; quiet different from the photo's on the internet but also does say that it's not there yet.... Nose is lots of ginger giving it a green nose. Some maltyness there as there is some yeastesters( wheatbeerarome), alcohol and hoparomes but ginger overpowering it mostly without feeling it's in the way. Taste is also quiet a lot of ginger as it well balanced with alcohol and hopbitterness making it an harmonic and intresting brew that's well( and quiet high) carbonated also making this an very enjoyable brew to me.
