Arabier is a beer with secondary fermentation in the bottle and hopped with flower hops (Nugget and WGV - Whitbread Golding Variety) from Poperinge. "Drink arabier cool," the Arabic text says. Initiates claim that the Arabs would express this softer, in the sense of: "One drinks the arabier cool". Beer is forbidden over there, however thirst-quenching it may be. The name is always written with a small a. In the plural one says arabiers when one talks about two glasses of arabier and arabieren in the sense of: "There are no two arabieren."

330ml bottle into a teku. Bottled February 2020, so over 3 years old.

Hazy medium yellow body with a strong white head. Pleasing aroma, however this beer is very bitter, which combined with the dryness makes even the small bottle a chore. As the palate adjusts, it gets a little better, but very little sweetness to balance out the taste.

This was bottled on 3/2016 according to the cap. Was given to me as a gift. This was a surprisingly tasty beer.

bottle into glass
Frothy, off-white, head, that sustains. Murky, dark orange, with a little golden yellow tint at the edge of the glass. A medium amount of a malted and fermented pineapple juice aroma, with a tang to it. Bitter and lasting bitterness, for the overarching flavor characteristic, with a medium toast malt and touch of clove/cardamom, way in the background, for the taste.

330ml bottle. For bottling date the cap is stamped 'BOTTLED JUL2021'.
Slightly cloudy, deep gold colored body. Many fingers of meringue white head. Needs a careful pour in order not to foam over. Leaves thick spots of lacing.
Aroma has lots of Belgian yeast notes, along with an apple or orange tone, and a base woody smell. Many layers of funk.
Taste is slightly sour funk, with hop bitterness, a base woody flavor, and spice/banana/lemon. The woody funk lingers in the aftertaste.
Almost frothy mouth feel. Excellent carbonation.
A real burp inducer, with seldom encountered yeast and hop aromas and flavors. Must accept a sour funk expression in order to enjoy.

330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, and HaandBryggeriet who imports it to Norway. Deep golden colour, big to moderate head. Distinct hoppy aroma with floral notes. ABV is 8%. Alcohol is well hidden. The flavour has the characteristic sharp bitterness of Nugget hops from start to finish. After a few beers of the "well rounded" and "fruity and acidic" kind, this was just what I needed. More "American" than Belgian, perhaps.

Poured from fridge temp. Pours an opaque orange with a LOT of off-white head. Sticks around for 10 minutes, and even then there is quite a bit left. Nose is orange, wheat, spice, banana, and a nice woody note. Definitely a bit of funk there. A touch of sweetness. The taste is exceptional. Bitter upfront - lemon peel, hops, biscuits, bread, wheat, and some funk. Leather and an earthy/grass note. A lot of depth and complexity to the taste. So interesting. Mouthfeel is fairly light and crisp. Overall, a fantastic strong pale ale.

Body is an apricot gold/copper, unfiltered and hazy, with aggressive carbonation that in an instant forms a super long lasting and airy egg-white head.
Light aromas of fresh pressed apple juice, dash of spice, umami yeast notes.
Tastes of caramel and toasty malt, intertwined with a subdued yeasty fruitiness and spice; prominent hop bitterness provides balance and keeps it super dry, low hop flavour; noticeable alcohol warmth provides another dimension and lingers, with a bit too much alcohol taste; frothy carbonation drives a full feel, with a slight fattiness making it mouthcoating.

I'm a big fan of Belgian ales, and see potential in this with good yeast notes, but the alcohol taste is a distraction I can't get past to call this a winner.

Another "redemption ale" from 2017... got these for only a buck-fifty a piece because one exploded in the back of the store's fridge

Chunky orange-yellow, smells very pungent and fruity, esters from the yeast give this an impressive depth of flavor after 3 years, fruit for days. Very carbonated, this one exploded foam all over my friend's livingroom

There is an off-flavor at the end, and the alcohol is very apparent, but otherwise this aged wonderfully
