Koch's Andecher Mannheim is a pretty good place to get a Bavarian feel outside of the great State. There are rotisseries of chicken and pork knee, along with multiple selections of Nürnberger Bratwurst portions to choose from. That pretty much makes up their small menu, with a few other things. Overall the food is decent.
The actual restaurant is well kept, and they have a relaxing open door area in front of the establishment with a fountain.
The service is the weakest point of the place. At best it can be slow when reordering a beer. I've been here about seven times or so, and the last time was the best service we got, which was well above average for the place and the certain waitress. The place is never busy, which makes me wonder why they're so slow at serving their beer; however, if they serve in accordance to the RHG, that may be the reason (certain styles of beer have to be slow poured in accordance to the RHG)
The main point for this review of course is the beer. I believe they have all of Andecher's line on tap all year round, to include their Doppelbock. Not available on the menu is their one liter sizes, which you must order knowingly they have the one liter steins, "Ein Mass Helles Bitte!"
Overall the place is a nice place to get a quaint Bavarian feel. It is a must to visit if you like Bavarian beer and food, but can't visit the real deal.
