The view of the Wisconsin Bluffs over Lake Pepin is fantastic. Le Cordon Bleu trained Chef Jaworski scours the countryside for local raw materials to compose fine dining delights at small town prices. The beer list is three times bigger than the wine list and offers a good selection of craft and imports. The markup on the beer is very reasonable.

The NOSH is one of my favorite places to visit, no question about it.

The NOSH has one of the best beer menus around, featuring a handful of draft offerings, and a huge bottle menu including many rare and limited release items you will be hard-pressed to find elsewhere - all at very reasonable prices. The actual dining menu changes constantly and always offers something new for the palate. The food is prepared with exceptional technique and has never failed to simply melt my face with its awesomeness. A relaxing atmosphere, both in the bar area, and dining section, make you feel right at home.

Some may be off-put at first by the food costs, but the quality of the food, and overall experience easily exceeds the price you pay for it all.

was first introduced to Nosh at a beer tasting put on by the owner. I was thoroughly impressed. So impressed that I brought the wife down for her birthday. The hour and a half drive was well worth it.
Atmosphere - The atmosphere is exactly what I want at each level. The bar was nice and quaint with some small tables towards the back with upwards of 15 bar stools that surround a very casually lit and very eye appealing bar. What I first noticed was the draft selection (Abyss, a Bell's offering, Tyranena Shaggin in the Wooods, and two others that are escaping me at this time). The second thing I noticed was the beer cooler (Surly, Bell's, O'dells, and several others) was very easy to find a great beer to enjoy.
The dining room was fantastic. Warm and inviting with a great view of the marina. The table my wife and I shared was right by a window that peered right out to the marina. Very romantic and comfortable.
Quality - From the beverages to the food to the service, all were top notch. The food was amazing, everything tasted fresh and home grown and was cooked properly.
Service - very unassuming, it seemed like every time we started to need something, there was someone with either it in their hand or able to get it immediately. Looks like they use the "team service" concept so we had several people that attended to us during the evening.
I would go back for the service and the atmosphere alone with the wife.
Selection - The food was just as varied as the beer selection. The tasting menu is what caught my eye at first and I was not dissapointed. They have a wide variety ranging from foul, beef, ethnic flair, to seafood.
Food - Amazing, properly spiced, proper serving temperature with an amazing selection. The food is worth every penny. They use the bakery that is located directly beside the restaurant and do it for good reason. We stayed the night at a local hotel and went to the bakery for breakfast and was highly impressed.
Value - The prices are not for every one. The food, beer, atmosphere, and service make the prices seem small compared to the experience that we had. In a bigger city, it seems to me that you would pay more than double the total bill that what we had in Lake City.
Overall, this is an amazing venue in a city you would not expect it in. Will definitely make the hour and a half trip south to this location many times in the future.

NOSH is a hidden gem in Lake City. It is right on Lake Pepin and looks out over a sailboat marina. I the food is definitely fine dining, as they make everything in house. But the service was casual, not stuffy like you would expect with the food they are putting out.

The beer is what this website is about and NOSH really shines. A predominantly craft beer menu A few standard imports and domestic which is to be expected from a river town restaurant. I can't remember everything they had, but they had a good mix of beers, pilsners, wheats, browns, IPAs and stouts. They had seven crafts on draft and about 30 by the bottle. For a restaurant that focuses on wine the list is impressive and well priced. 12oz bottles run $5-$7 and bombers were bewteen $10-$15. Jolly Pumpkin bombers in a restaurant for $15! They cost me $14 retail.

I highly recommend making a day trip down the river from the cities and checking this place out. I plan to.

Stopped into NOSH for a drink with some family friends tonight. We were greeted when we walked in and were able to choose any spot in the bar area as only 2 people were there besides us. We choose a cozy little spot in the back of the bar and were given 4 pints of ice water (great touch) and the beverage menu. The water gave us a few minutes to look it over and returned later to take our order. They had 4 drafts on (bells double cream, fat tire, a coffee bock, and something else that I cannot recall) The drafts ranged from 4-6 bucks which I thought was not bad. The bottle selection was also pretty good with several bells offerings. Bottles were also in the 4-6 range. After taking our orders we received our beverages in a timely order and just relaxed in the nice cozy bar area. The waiter/bartender checked on us a few times and was very nice.

It's a shame that the place was dead as it's definitely Lake City's best place to relax and have a couple drinks. The wine selection is also great. I plan on stopping back for a cocktail next time.

One an additional trip (a couple two hearted's were had), my group enjoyed fantastic meat and cheese tray, exotic mushrooms with toast and seared ahi tuna. The food was fantastic. The fact that food this good could be had in Lake City was even more amazing.

I have listed the value as a bit pricey only because it is pricey but the food is worth every penny. The experience and sensation of consuming the well prepared food makes it completely worth the price. I'd highly recommend eating or drinking here if you're in the area.
