This isn't a place one would automatically think to be a good bar....from the name and appearance it seems to be some place where the rich and proper meet to discuss intellectual topics. However, the place is very laid back and relaxing. the inside is probably one of the nicest bars i've been in. its beautiful! This is the perfect place to bring a girl for a romantic evening or even if you just want a relaxing night with a buddy.
The service is actually quite knowledgeable about the beer. for some reason, i expected them to know just about wine.
the selection is pretty impressive as well. anyone who loves beer will come here and find something fun to try.

After searching high and low for good beer stores in and around Daytona, I finally stumbled upon Ormond Wine Co., located about 2 minutes from where we were staying.
Atmosphere is upscale, wine bar decor, very clean and well-organized, with cellars along the walls and a sizable beer fridge in the middle of the store. At first glance I thought the selection would be decent at best, so I was shocked to find a fairly wide array of good to world class offerings.
I grabbed the Boulder Mojo IPA, Left Hand Milk Stout, Hitachino Japanese Classic Ale, Lost Coast 8 Ball Stout, Stone Oaked Arrogant Bastard and 13th Anniversary Ale, Flying Dog Double Pale Ale, Avery Salvation, Franziskaner Dunkel, Smuttynose "Finest Kind" IPA, Bell's HopSlam, Delirium Tremens, and Spaten Optimator, among others. Everything is affordable and in total I would say they carry 80 craft beers and imports, most of which are superb.
Service is friendly and helpful - the black-haired guy made great recommendations on my first trip and the blonde tanned lady was more than happy to grab me some empty six-packs on another visit.
As I've mentioned in my other reviews, Wine Co. is one of the top beer destinations in the area, along with Bottle Caps, McK's Tavern, Mr. Dunderbak's, and Shores Festhaus. If you're looking for excellent beer in Ormond, Daytona, or Port Orange, this is a place to consider.

Ormond Wine Company is a combination wine bar/retail store. They focus primarily on wine but have a decent, but limited, selection of craft beers. This review focuses on the retail store.
You can create your own six pack from a selection that includes: Brooklyn Brewery, Rogue, Dogfishhead, Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, Flying Dog, and Smuttynose, among others. I chose Brooklyn Brown Ale, Smuttynose Old Brown Dog, Sam Adams Brown Ale, and Dogfishhead 90 minute IPA. Cost was about $11, which is slightly more than I would pay for a 6 pack of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale at Publix. You can also special order cases. I ordered a case of Brooklyn Pennant Ale ($42 with tax). The website says they have over 100 different beers.
There aren't many places in the Daytona area with a craft beer selection this good. In grocery stores, you can get Sam Adams lager and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale for about $10 per 6, but I haven't seen any Brooklyn Brewery or Dogfishhead until I visited Ormond Wine Co.
