You walk in to some of the most knowledgeable staff ever. A huge selection, with good prices to start and then they let you know if you purchase 6 single bottles big or little you get 10% off or 12 you get 15%. Staff is friendly, helpful, and very enthusiastic about beer. One of if not the best beer store I have been in. Nothing bad to say. (342 characters)

Small store buried in the back of a large plaza. Great selection and fairly large for the size of the store. It seemed like a third of the store was devoted to craft beer. They get a lot of limited releases and always post on twitter/Facebook when they get stuff in. Staff was helpful and the prices are good. (309 characters)

Amazing little store. I was impressed with the double isle of European selections, though thats not my taste per say. The american craft selection was also great with lots of 6-packs and bombers already in the cooler. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. I'll definitely make a return trip. Also, as a bonus, they stock over 400 brands of whisky, just sayin' case you want to get good and silly. (399 characters)

Redstones is a small bottle shop about 5 minutes from the I-93/128 interchange. While the space is small it is absolutely packed with great beers. They have a great Belgian section, as well as a large local (and US) selection, and a nice import section. They are constantly getting new beers and post the new inventory on FB.

The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. They always take the time to walk around the shop and point out the new arrivals. I get to Stoneham a few times a month and I make it a point to stop by every time I'm in the area. This is by far my favorite bottle shop.

They also have a nice discount program. I believe it is 10% off on 6 or more bottles and 15% off on 12 or more. (712 characters)

They do a lot with the little space that is available to them. There is a great selection of beers from around the world, especially Belgian offerings. Their local assortment is solid - they have beers from almost every local brewery available. They always have the rare releases and one off's from the big craft guys too. The staff is also very knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy.

I've never had an out dated bottle there either, they do a great job rotating their stock. Picked up a six pack of Sculpin yesterday and was told while I was cashing out that it was "very fresh" - these guys know what they're doing. (627 characters)

Great store about 10 minutes from I93. Loads of locals and imports. Kinda cramped and they don't have everything but what they have is high quality. Helpful staff, in fact I was given the 10% discount on my six singles when I wasn't even aware they had a discount program. BIG marks for that. (292 characters)

Can't say enough about these guys! Very knowledgeable and willing to talk beer at any time without making you feel rushed or pressured to buy something. Great selection of beer from around the world, including lots of Belgians and Danish beers. Get lots of rare brew and prices are reasonable! Plus you get to keep the glass they have provided you buy the beer. Got an amazing Orval goblet this way. Truly a world class beer joint. (431 characters)

Awesome craft beer selection for the North Shore of MA. They do a lot of updating via twitter/facebook which is extremely helpful. Their prices are very good and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. One of the better overall craft beer stores ive been too. They have a good constant rotation and I try to stop in here every couple weeks. My go to store when my stock gets low. There's not much they could do to improve, they do it right and I am glad it's right near me. (474 characters)

Went here while visiting the area on a recommendation from others. Place was easy to find from the interstate. Walked in and all the beer is towards the back. They have an excellent selection of local beers (Enlightenment, Jacks Abby, Pretty Things, Mystic etc.). The staff are beyond helpful and were quick to help me when I told them I was from out of state. Very knowledgeable about everything in their store. They gave me some good tips on a trip to Hill Farmstead and Alchemist. If you even remotely in the area its worth the drive/time to go here. (553 characters)

I had read about it, but finally made the trip today. Not much to look at, but then you start to look around and the selection is as good as you will find in Massachusetts.

Service was terrific. Immediately approached and asked if I needed help. Got great suggestions from the owner. Unlike some of the stores around the Boston area, the staff is not keeping the best stuff, so good hard to find beers are available. My likes are one the stout end and came away with three I had been searching for and two suggestions to try.

Follow on Twitter for updates on new stock.

Belgiums are on an entire row, US on another, international on a third. Refrigerated section extends well beyond the Bud family, with good craft beer ready to drink.

As a sidelight to the beer review, I note that they have a huge good whiskey selection.

Put this one on you list of places to check by often. (883 characters)

Really like this store. If you are into craft beer and are in the greater Boston area this is the place to shop. The store would benefit from more space, but they make the most of what they have. Beer section is well organized with beers grouped by region and style. The service is excellent. It really shows that they are beer enthusiasts. They have an informative web page and respond promptly to email questions. Good Facebook page as well with updates on hot items as they come in. Overall excellent beer shopping experience. (529 characters)

I live about 45 minutes from this place but decided to check it out on my way back from a day trip with my wife. The place is very small with about 25% of the space dedicated to beer. But boy do they cram a lot in. The thing that set this place apart was the service we received. I forget the guys name but he took about 15 minutes to give my wife and i a "tour" of the beer section, pointing out many recent additions along the way. He was knowledgeable and patient. The selection was very good but crammed. They have a nice selection of beer glasses from different breweries which are free if you buy a beer from said brewery. That's a nice touch except if compelled me to buy more that i probably should have. Overall, I would recommend this place. (751 characters)

Stopped here after visiting the Homebrewing Hobby store in Woburn. I've heard many things and finally decided to stop in since I was close. What suprised me most was how small the place was. It's really not any bigger than your average high school classroom, with a cooler in the back. However there is no space waisted. For the most part everything is reasonably well organized and most things seem to have a home. I'm being reasonable here, like I said the place is really small so there are some stacks of beer in the aisle and towards the back as well. I initially wasn't too impressed with the service, but they came through in the end. My wife and I walked in and we got "the head knod." I'm fine with that, but we spent a decent amount of time walking around and the 3 or so employees working didn't move from behind the register. However once I checked out, the man working the register informed me if I purchased one more beer I would recieve 10% off my purchase...which came to a free beer and $1.50 off my purchase. He said I could go grab one and while I did he left the register to get me a box for the beer I was buying. I ended up getting 6 Stone collaboration brews one of which was the More brown than Black IPA which I was stoaked about then I got a couple 4 packs of Hopponius Union. I was very happy to see they had that much for me to buy of Jack's Abby. HU isn't too easy to come by at the moment since they've switched distributers. The Selection is very good, plenty to choose from and it runs deep. We're not talking about just flagship/regular lineups from many breweries. There was plenty of special release beers that were on the shelves. Very good import selection of Belgian and other Euopean brews, Fantome, Mikkeller, Haandbraak, and the list goes on. Prices were fair, but everything seemed to be $1-$2 more than what I see at Granite Liquors, not thier fault, it's tough to compete with the Bearded Beer Guy. It's a bit of a hike for me, so I wouldn't go up there just to go, but I think I would stop by to see what they had again if I were in the area, it's certainly one of the better craft beer stores in MA. (2,145 characters)

After visiting Redstone Liquors once, I feel that it will become my regular spot while visiting Boston (I live in New York, but do visit Boston occasionally). It's easy to get to if you're driving.

The space is fairly small, and it's a full-service liquor store so to speak (full selection of wine and spirits). However, I found beer selection absolutely top level. Local breweries (which is a big deal for me) are very well represented. There are good options regardless what criteria you use - style, packaging (12 oz. and 22 oz. bottles, cans), origin. As I mentioned local is big for me, so I picked up mostly New England brews, but also selected some tried brands for our group (on the way to ski in Vermont).

The space is a little cramped, but it didn't bother me as I spent good 30-45 minutes browsing and choosing. Prices seemed fair and they do give a discount for anything over 6 loose bottles.

As I entered the guy behind the counter gave me a quick tour of the layout and also recommended a few brews. I also chatted with him while paying for my selection and got an impression of an honest and knowledgeable salesperson. That's definitely a plus. (1,165 characters)

I'm from Michigan and was out of town for two weeks working in New Hampshire. Upon flying into Boston, a fellow BA'er told me I should stop by Redstone on the way down as I was looking for some items I couldnt find in Michigan.

I went in, was impressed by the selection and the prices were reasonable. The guy working mentioned the owner wasnt currently here but if I came back later he loves to talk shop on beer and even trade.

After a few email conversations with Kamal I was able to come in, pick up a few limited releases and chat with him a little bit. I was very impressed by him and the store. It's always great to see owners passionate about craft beer and having fair prices. The week I was there, he even did a random drawing for customers to have the ability to purchase rare beers.

Anyway, I could go on and on but this is certainly a must stop if you're in the area. Unfortunately until he finds new store front space, it's a little hard to find as it's behind a plaza. (988 characters)

Stopped in here yesterday on my way home from work. What a great shop - mainly bombers but some good sixers as well. Staff was very helpful and the prices were reasonable. Talked to them about some upcoming releases and they encouraged me to keep in contact.

Wasn't expecting to purchase much, but ended up taking advantage of their Buy Six get 10% off deal. Ended up with some great buys:

Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast
Mikkeller Beer Geek Brunch Weasel
Clown Shoes Blaecorn Unidragon
Old Rasputin XIV
Older Viscosity
Peche Mortel

Will definetely be visiting this store more often. Highly recommended! (604 characters)

I stopped in here this week for the first time with my wishlist in hand. Prices were very reasonable and a bit better than other local shops.

The manager came back after a few minutes to ask if he could answer any questions...after mentioning it was my first time in he asked if he could give me a tour of the layout (which is really, really well thought out) he asked if there were something special I was looking for. I gave him my wishlist of 20-30 beers I didn't think were locally available and I was amazed at how he was able to run through each one, and quickly commenting on the status of each, making recommendations of alternatives that he had in stock (some of which were unknown to me).

He really, really helped me out with a "bucket list" item that I had been looking for (above and beyond the call of duty).

Overall one of the best customer service experiences I've had in a very long time - one of those where you shake the guy/gal's hand and thank them for all the help. The store is kind of out of my way and I will totally be back.

Update: These guys continue to amaze me. I'm still very new to the place and Kamal and his team treat me like I've been shopping there for years. Even more of the "above and beyond stuff". I come here from New Hampshire on a weekly basis - there are closer places for me that have similar offerings, but this is one of those joints that I don't mind driving a few extra miles to get to (it's still incredibly convenient to 93 and 95.) (1,489 characters)

Went right before Christmas to pick up a few stocking stuffers. Met the owner, Kamel, who was extremely knowledgable and helped me pick out some krieks, which I am just getting into. I also picked up bombers of Double Jack, Allagash Curieux, Schlafly Bourbon Stout, Mystic Saison, and Ruckus Hoptimus Prime.

Redstone also has wines and liquors, but they are truly about craft brews. They have a discount deal - 10% off for every six bottles purchased and 15% every ten. Great selection and great help from staff, pretty good prices. Better than any other places I have been around Boston. (590 characters)

I stopped in here for the first time this past weekend while I was passing through on my way to Chelsea. A few turns from the off ramp but nothing my gps couldn't find. Its in a shopping mall, but in a weird back corner next door to what used to be a supermarket but is now closed. Anyhow lots of easy parking on a Saturday afternoon. Looks like any typical neighborhood packey, long store front, register against the right hand wall, liquor and wine front and center, beer off in the back. Lots of warm beer available on multiple sets of shelves, multiple floor displays, as well as most of the 10 or so cooler doors. Great variety of local and regional beers with an impressive Belgian selection. Service was attentive even if I did stump the kid asking about Firestone 15. Prices seemed average for the Massachusetts market which I find higher than at home in NH. If I were in the area again I wouldn't hesitate to stop in. Great selection. (943 characters)

A fantastic small shop! Redstone does not have acres and acres of bottles gathering dust, but it does have knowledgeable and friendly staff devoted to keeping a high quality selection of domestic and import (with a good selection of locals!).

I was so impressed with the help and attention I got from the staff on a recent visit, while they helped me find all the gems on their current shelves. You can not go wrong stopping by here and letting them know what you're looking for.

Also nice is the standard store policy of giving a 10% discount on the whole purchase if you buy 6 bottles, and 15% discount when buying 12 or more. That can easily mean you get a bottle free. (675 characters)

Perspective is everything, but from my point of view, this store was a gold mine. I visited here from New Brunswick Canada, and compared to anything available within 200+ miles of my home, it was unbelievable.

The staff was very helpful and sincere. I was making a large stockpile to bring home with me, and they truly wanted to help me make the most of what I was able to get. They helped point me to a lot of great choices. They also packed up my large order and helped to carry to my car.

There was a very good selection of Belgian beers and other well known sources. There was also a great selection of American craft beers. (631 characters)

I've been going to this place for about the past year and half. It is THE #1 Beer store around!

Selection is exceptional and large variety that is always changing. No matter what your style is they've got it. TONS of Belgian's and beers from what seems to be almost every brewery in the US.

They get lots of hard to finds and are great about being fair so that people dont buy them out.

The glassware and 10%/15% discount for 6/12 bottle purchases is what makes this place distinctly the best.

I try to make it a weekly stop and highly value to staff to keep me in the loop of current brew-news.

Got it? It's a great place! (631 characters)

My favorite local store. The selection is very good, despite the small floor space, with crowded shelves and tight corners. Staff is usually very knowledgeable, though sometimes on weekends, their interest and knowledge seem limited. Pricing is excellent, with discounts on packs of single bottle (5 - 10% on 6 or 12 bottles, as I recall). On occasion, the cashier will volunteer a free glass if they have one in stock to match your selections. Each month they have a featured brewery, which improves the range of offerings from the producer even if the price doesn't improve. (576 characters)
