Glowing golden-blonde hue with a frothy, eggshell white head. Quite attractive in the glass.
Nose features fruity esters redolent of green apple, ripe pear and apricot. A spicy, earthy hop character peeks out from under the massive fruit presence, as well.
Definitively fruity and sweet. Additional notes of apple, apricot and pear resonate on the palate, with seemingly coriander and peppery spices, minor hints at phenols, and an alcoholic rush on the finish. Vastly flavorful, well-rounded, though never straying too far from its intrinsic fruity sweetness.
Carbonated, but not overdone like in some other tripels. Smooth and elegant.
Easy to drink given its weight and all the flavors packed inside. A classy, classic tripel whose attention is well-deserved. Good on tap, but preferred in the bottle.

Bottle: a light brown 330mL brown bottle with a very busy yet stylish old-school Belgian label depicting the wheat fields.
Appearance: pours a honey amber colour with fine carbonation. A big white head bursts up and settles to a creamy white finger, leaving thick lacing as it dropped. Looks awesome!
Aroma: smells of spice, pepper, wheat and orchard fruits. Quite complex and refreshing.
Taste: again the complexity of flavours come through nicely with some heavier brandy and heavy fruits.
Aftertaste: flows through to the finish, lingering for a time. Pretty easy drinking yet nice as a slow sipper.
Mouth feel: a moderate- to- fuller body, with the sharp carbonation avoiding it being too syrupy.
Overall: a good quality Belgian Tripel - nice complexity of wheat, Belgian yeasts, orchard fruits, spice and some heavier ABV notes. Well worth the price.

Opened this birthday present that had been sitting in my garage fridge for 2 years. It poured a light burnt orange into the Duvel tulip glass. It had a good 3-4 finger head with tight bubble pattern.
The smell was spicy and of citrusy fruits. Was getting primarily orange in the back of the nostrils.
Taste was sweeter than I remembered for Tripels but good. Got a little bit of a banana on the tongue. It also seemed to have a very light caramel tinge to it. In the mouth the left a tingle at the back of the throat. Overall a delicious beer.
