11.2oz bottle poured *carefully* into a Tripel Karmeliet tulip.
Hazy, coppery, melted butter color. Four fingers of head. Most ridiculous head retention I've seen in a long time. Puffy clings of lacing. Looks fluffy and very inviting.
I smell banana, coriander, fresh bread, must, and some citric flavors (lemony/orange). A little nutty from the suspended yeast. Mild spiciness, very mellow fruit essences.
Up front spicy bite yields to a fruity soft banana. Very doughy malt with a prick of aged hops. Complexities offered in the forms of clove, bitter walnut, and orange rind. A nice dry finish, punched with an alcoholic bite. Not too strong, sweet, or spicy like many other tripels.
Great drinkability. Higher carbonation doesn't subtract from a smooth, silky mouthfeel. Pretty much semi-dry (slight stickiness on the lips). Incredible construction. A must have.
My favorite tripel. A beer I will always remember, seek out, and turn to.
