750ml cork action. served at 54.3 degrees F.
wow. huge ass head. it could be represented very well using a topographic map. lots of mountains and valley. underneath, lots of geologic activity (baby bubbles surging to the surface). nice straw colour. mmm. makes lots of sizzling noises.
aroma is mellow, not giving away much. a little orange, little vanilla, some yeastiness. very balanced and doesn't smell generically belgian, a bit more well rounded.
taste is wondeful. sweet clover honey and lemon like citrus. very sweet and smooth. if you have ever had chamomile tea, with honey, this is exactly that, except turned into beer. lots of floral stuff going on. tastes like a beautful summer day. a nice treat for the middle of february in marquette, mi.
good beer. oh yes, very good.

Trying this for the first time. Tasted 9 April 2014.
Pours a gorgeous hazy golden yellow. One finger of dense creamy white head, looking more like milk than foam. Great retention, awesome lacing, and a dense column of bubbles streaming up from the bottom of the glass.
Smell is bright and alive. Lovely yeasty esters with fruit (banana) and gentle spice, plus some residual sweetness in the back. Yum.
Taste has both the sweet, flavorful side and the clean, crisp side. Outstanding. Warm and fruity, a bit of sugar, a faint hint of spice, and only the tiniest touch of bitterness. Balanced, varied, and delicious. Not even a sniff of alcohol.
Feel is fabulous as well. Smooth and fairly light, with a fuzzy carbonation that spreads throughout. Keeps the flavors buzzing around.
One of the best tripels I've had, for sure. Excellent across the board. Great depth, varied flavors, and a delicate balance. Wow.
