It pours a slightly hazy golden yello, mucho carbonated. Three fingers of sculpted bright white head sink away so very slowly. Traditional Belgian lacing frosts the inside of the glass.

The aroma wafts a tangy wheat tartness along with sour apples. A mild general spiciness works along a background of bready yeast.

Upon sipping, there's a fairly sweet trio of sassy wheat, berry barley malt, and dusky oats. Fruity green apple slides in, rounding out the middle along with a mellow clove spice note. A softly doughy yeast presence slithers along to the close before the finish dries crisply, leaving a short mild bitterness. It's a stylistically basic but special presentation.

Medium bodied, it's lively on the palate, laying mostly sweetly before glowing to a lighter bitter end.

This goes to show you that mainstream can be delicious in its own right. There's no stepping way out or taking chances here, but there's plenty of classic tradition delivered with fundamental good taste. While the alcohol is very well disguised, the ABV still comes through as a smooth, credible warmth. When it's time to get back to the basics, this is a fine one to turn to.

330ml bottle poured into tulip jan28 2011

A bright golden color with some sediment being moved around by a decent amount of bubbles that produce a large 3 finger bone white foam that falls to a thick film that hangs around for a while, only points lost would be for zero lace

S pear and pineapple with some hops and yeast

T not far from the smell but a little fainter and with a hint of booze

M plenty of bubbles and flavors linger for a while, fairly light but I'm loving it

D for a beer this strong its pretty easy to drink, my glass was empty pretty quick

a solid triple that I wish I could afford, a hard sell a 20$ a four pack when LFDM 6 for a 750ml. still even at the price its a must try

A: Golden color, frothy evervescent white head, slight lacing down the glass
S: Sweet, fruity slight Belgian yeast scent
T: Taste is sweet and fruity. Alcohol evident toward the end.
M: Very prickly and champagne like.
D: Taste and smell is very good....way too over the top with the carbonation. Less carbonation would make this an excellent beer.
