750ml bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy, golden color. Over two fingers of thick, frothy pure white head. Good head retention, leaves spots of lacing.

The aroma starts out with a fairly strong herbal / grassy / floral aroma. There are hints of musty over-ripened apples, spice, and some funk. Strong, and inviting.

Its aroma carries over to the flavor. Very herbal, light pepper, clove, faint hints of banana, pear, and apple.

It has a medium body, that coats the tongue nicely after the carbonation dies off.

An easy to drink tripel. Not over the top, but far from boring. I will drink this again.

A: Cloudy gold with a huge rocky bright white head. Looks outstanding.
S: all kinds of fruit, mainly pears and apples. A nice candy smell with some slight astringentcy. Balanced and perfect.
T: follows nosr perfectly. Slight pepper flavor with some acidity. Nice sweet fruit flavor which blends seemlessly with nice biscuity notes. Loving this.
M: medium to high carbonation but a slight body. Finishes so nicely. Great aftertaste that leaves you wanting more.
O: go buy it. Extremely quaffable and leaves you wanting more. Enjoy it any time of year.

A: Pours pale yellow. In the glass it is a yellow straw color with a massive white head on top. Fairly clean as far as haze is concerned.

S: Sweet with a little herbal hop kick. There is a nice amount of fruity sweetness, berries and a little citrus. There is a good amount of banana and clove in there. The herbal note balances fairly well with the sweetness. There is a hint of alcohol in the finish.

T: Tasty. Very bright beer. Plenty of sweetness with berry notes, banana and clove. The clove seems to come out fairly strong to me. The herbal note in the aroma comes out in the finish. Perhaps a touch of booze at the end.

M: Medium light in body, very assertive carbonation but appropriate for the style. Slightly dry finish.

O: Overall I like this beer. Fairly classic as far as a tripel is concerned. Good flavors from the yeast, plenty of Belgian Character, and a nice sweetness. Very enjoyable.

Golden straw in color with a huge pure white foam cap, that retains well.

Smell is warm and peppery, Belgian yeasts, and a hint of fruity pear.

Tastes of grains, some peppery warmth, a nice yeasty tang and a quite strange, yet good bitter aftertaste.

Feels a bit bubbly, with a sting, but this lessens as it goes down. A light to medium body, and pretty drinkable.

I liked the beer, but I liked other Tripels much better.

I really liked this beer. The beer is an attractive golden beer that made a good head that dissipated quickly.

Smell: Sweet malty yeasty smell.

Taste: Mild tripel that sweet, yeasty and malty taste. Light fruits and spice. I found the entire the very good and mild. Complex? yes. Tasty? yes. Highly recommended. could be your favorite.

Notes: Pairs well with Greg Brown folk music.

Poured into a Duvel tulip on 2/21/12

29/03/11 is printed on the bottle neck

Thanks to my uncle for sending this home with me after the DBT show a while back.

Moderately hazy, slightly faded gold hue. The head is massive - well over four fingers and well over the top of the glass. The head drops slowly leaving a large mound in the center and a few random leavings of lace.

The aroma is light and airy, but it maintains a full figure. Lemon and lime, tart apple, prairie grass and fresh cut hay, toasted grains galore, crackers herbal and floral notes, soft spices and an overtone of mustiness. Swirling draws forth an aroma of anise cookies. No booze.

The taste is more fleshed out than the aroma strikes me. The malts and grains have a more prominent role than do the fruity esters. Dense bread, crackers and lightly toasted grains - the three grains blend together for the most part, though the wheat perhaps takes a nip of the finish. Modest hops merge with a mild spiciness; the result being a well-fitted herbal notion that takes a backseat to the grains. Overtones of light fruits.

The feel is briefly thin before moving to a plump, malty, medium body. Carbonation is painfully high at first, but after opening up and swirling out a bit, said carbonation is reasonably matched with the heft of the beer. Grain, yeast and fruit residuals linger on the finish. Moderately dry, too.

This beer continues to bloom as time wears on and I find myself enjoying it more in tandem. Definitely worth a shot. Thanks Todd!

Aroma: Lots of fruity esters and spice. Orange, apricot. Lots of clove and black pepper. Some floral hops. May be the first tripel I've seen where the spice dominates the fruit.

Appearance: Pale straw, somewhat cloudy. Pours a massive white head. Tons of bubbles rising in the glass for what seems like forever, fifteen minutes by my estimation. Excellent retention and tons of sticky lacing.

Taste: Lots of citrus fruit. Dark orange, apricot, not as much spice as I was expecting, which is pretty much a good thing here. Mild floral hops. The aftertaste is caramel and sweet citrus. Light malt and lots of white sugar. No alcohol.

Mouthfeel: Light and frothy, mildly creamy. Not drying, actually a bit oily. High carbonation.

Overall: A bit on the sweet side, but very good overall. Impressive appearance, followed by a bold sweet and spicy aroma, then the very sweet fruity and spicy taste. A little light from the huge amount of carbonation.
