Enjoyed in a chalice

A: pours a very very pale and light hay color that is just slightly hazy with a small amount of carbonation bubbles and a three finger head that is pure white, very light and fluffy and lingers very nicely, leaves a decent amount of lacing
S: very night slight peppery notes and a gentle lemon peel scent, a nice grainy note like honey nut cheerios
T: really nice taste, reminds me kind of like a really faint apple juice, slight spice and clove notes, finishes with a bit of a bitter note, there is a slight bubble gum note in the front of the sip as well
M: gentle carbonation tingle but definitely fizzy, smooth and airy across the palate, leaves the mouth feeling slightly dry
O: given its overall rating, i had expected more complexity, i do suppose that this is a spot on representation of the style, it hits right as it should, drinks nicely enough and the alcohol is not perceivable

A- Pours a golden color, totally clear with no sediment, with an unimpressive soapy head.

S- Complexity. Apple, pear, just a touch of skunkiness, some nice pepper, spices, and licorice.

T- Very much echos the nose, sans skunk. Big spice, pepper, pear, apple, licorice. Finishes with some nice residual spice.

M- Low Carbonation, and nice finish.

D- I could easily drink this again, but the fact is that there are better tripels out there I would partake in prior to this one.

This brew is just outstanding! It gives the biggest head since Monica Lewinski! Great 3 finger head, nice soft pillowy body. Has some corn flavors and nice fruity esthers. Leaves unbelievable lacing down the glass. A drinkers dream! Pours a golden colour with that big head. Lovable beer and can actually be drank as a session!

Pours a warm honey color with a soft, white head. Mild lacing. Nice smell of fruit and a mild alcohol note.

Full flavored, packed with strong notes of honey, fruit and grain. Hops are subtle and complete the finish with a fresh herbal note. Alcohol is well-masked and this could be deceptive! Sweet, but not cloying. A spicy but subdued fizzy pop in the finish makes for a superb mouthfeel and finish. Very smooth and approachable. A nice example of the style without being too "run of the mill."

A strong and classy beverage that would suit well for pairing with poultry or pork dishes.

Originally sampled on 4 August 2002. I am writing this review from my notes.
Appearance: This beer has a Huge frothy white head. It is Clear golden colored, like a pilsener.
Aroma: nothing jumps out at me, but then again, I don't have a great sense of smell
Flavor: It has a rich, sweet taste w/ some yeastiness.

Light, bright, golden in color with a big, aggressive, fuzzy white head.

Sweetly spicy, fruity and yeasty in the nose. I don't know the spices but pineapples, peaches, and pears all appear along with zesty belgian wheat.

Wow! Loads of lush carbonation along with extra medium-full smoothness (perhaps from the addition of oats to the brew). All of the aforementioned nasal sensories carry over into a flavor that is sweetly spiced, golden wheaty, fruity, and lightly bitter.

Deelish. . . .

deceptively drinkable as well.
