Literally stumbled upon this place on a business trip this week while out looking for a Wal Mart, of all places.
Atmosphere gets a 5 - dark wood throughout the bar and in the restaurant, and German swag is placed just about everywhere. Flags outside around the bier garten adding to the allure. But for God's sake, WHY would they open this place in a little family/neighborhood retail center off the beaten path? They've clearly dumped a lot of money into the atmosphere, so hopefully it stays in business there.
Beer menu was good - 16 draft selections of German varieties from Bocks to Hefes to Doppels and Pilseners. Food menu was all Germanatered, too, with good quality selections on both. Not quite the level of selection as with Brauhaus Schmitz in South Philly, but that bar is set pretty high.
I was there mid-day on a Wednesday, so the service was pretty darn good. The guy working the bar went way out of his way to accomodate me, even tho he knew I was just there for a couple beers out on the patio.
The food pricing was high - especially given the area. $14 for lunches and $23 for dinners. Maybe the portions are huge, not sure as I ate before hitting this place.
Definitely worth checking out for anyone who finds themselves in the Cary/Apex/Raleigh/Durham area.

I stopped in with my family for lunch today. It's in a strip mall but the interior is pretty impressive. It's a bit more of an Epcot feel than the real thing but it's still well done. The dining area is pretty large and very comfortable. They also have a nice bar area.
They have a solid selection of German beers on tap. They offer half and full liters.
The food menu is extensive and authentic. We went with a 4 Brat Sampler Platter, Braumeister Gulasch and a side of Spätzle. The food was very good but very pricy for lunch.
Bavarian Brathaus is well worth a visit if you like German beer or food. The value is questionable but it's worth a try.

Tucked away in a Lowe's Food shopping center at the corner of Cary Pkwy and Tryon Road. This site has been several restaurants over the years. Hope this one lasts.
8 beers on draft, not a lot but a very nice selection. All German brews, befitting the name of the establishment. Highlights were Spaten Bock and Optimator and Ayinger Celebrator. All beers served in appropriate glassware from the appropriate brewery. The glass for the Spaten Bock was very cool, with an interesting goat painting on the face. Be warned - the beers come in LARGE glasses. My second beer was the Celebrator and it came out in a 23oz glass!
Nice dark wood bar area with several small tv's. The tv's are barely noticable, though, so you can keep up with a game but that's not really the focus here. Restaurant area is more open with lighter wood and stone dominating, but in a generic kind of way. A few tables outside on the patio, but that overlooks the parking lot.
Food is very, very good. Sausages are all excellent, as are the sides (red cabbage was very spicey, a little too vinegary for my wife).
Just on the high side above reasonable. Not a place to go every weekend, but a nice change of pace every month or so. Good Sunday brunch!
