16oz can that I think I paid $3.99 for, ridiculous. Typical stout appearance with a healthy head. Aroma was coffee but not good coffee per se. It didn't smell bad it just wasn't scrumptious. Flavor was sort of ashy and bitter like old coffee. This one is a pass and I can't believe I was dumb enough to drop the $4 when I have found Eddyline beers lacking in the past.

pint can poured into a nonic glass. new pavement dark color to this, way darker than even the most gnarly coffee, with an inch of mocha colored head with reasonable retention. the nose emits strong odors of coffee, and i agree with the other reviewer that is has a day old drip sort of complexion, but i disagree in that its not nice to the beer. i think that almost stale coffee element is nice, and a cool and unconventional balancing act for the very heavy roasted barley flavors in this. acidity is low, bitterness is average, but the presence of coffee is quite strong throughout. what i like best in this beer is the richness of the feel, aided by maybe some oats in the mash, but certainly by a coffee that was likely cold pressed to reduce acid. i think it mixes in well, but it certainly does have a dryness that i could see being observed as past its prime. carbonation is nice and frothy, and the beer sort of sticks to my guts. alcohol by volume isnt listed, but i would guess somewhere around 8% abv, its definitely bigger than average. not sure i could rock a while four pack of this in one dose, i think two is quite enough for me, but i enjoy the flavors, the buzz, and the caffeine rush from it. better than expected from eddyline.
