12 oz bottle, w/o freshness/bottling date info

Typical brown ale presentation, with the head show decent retention.

Faint nose of dark malts and perhaps some fall spicing.

Decent spiced brew/brown ale/ almost winter warmer. Spices faintly coming throug, especially the allspice.

Not a bad brew to serve a s a winter sessioner

The flavor hits with lots of allspice and ginger. The beer is slightly thin with a toasty malt balance to it as well a hint of caramel sweetness. A spice forward winter ale, albeit a touch weak on the malts.

Pours hazy, tan in color, with 1/4 inch head. Taste is ginger, toasted malt, bread, and all spice. Medium bodied and sweet. Tasty, above average winter warmer. Nothing I would rush out to get, but a solid beer.

Pours a light brown color with a short tight white head that left a wall of lacing as it settled.

The aroma is sweet. Brown bread with brown sugar and caramel. Cinnamon spice gives the brew some needed depth.

The taste is of a toasted pumpernickel malt with caramel and brown sugar. Some tea flavors from the malt. Noticeable but not overly strong cinnamon note. The allspice seems to provide some earthiness.

The feel is light to moderate with fizzy carbonation. Sweet on the palate, almost sticky. Quite dry on the palate, a bit astringent.

A decent winter ale. Not a huge fan of the base beer but I do like the amount of spice used.

On growler at Beer City, North Babylon NY

A - Dark copper pour with a cloudy look. Eggshell foam settles fast. Some lacing in rings on the glass.

S - Scents of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger spice. Malt scent is sweet with molasses notes.

T - Brown sugar sweet flavor with a plenty of holiday spice. The spicy feel is a bit dominant as the beer warmed.

M - Like many of the holiday spiced beers, this became a bit much and onbe glass was done. Overall the feel was nice, medium bodied, and slight carbonation. If the spicy feel were balanced a bit better this would be perfect.

O - Good local holiday beer. Would try again, but not a go to for the style.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Off white head which dissipates quickly, with adequate lacing. Smells of gingerbread and cinnamon. The first sip has a few quick flavor glimpses of the ingredients listed on the label - ginger, allspice and cinnamon, but they quickly give over to nice bitterness, with just a hint of ginger, which effectively masked the 7.20% abv. For people who like a 'spiced' winter ale without too much spice flavor, this is the perfect beer.
