Look - poured into a 8 oz tasting glass. light copper in color, cloudy, and a large frothy head that leaves behind little to moderate lacing.
Smell - some toasted bread like the filtered counterpart, but also has a bit of smokiness and some honey-like sweetness.
Taste - mostly malts with a tad bit of tartness. a tiny bit of hops towards the end, and finish lingers with more malts.
Feel - light to medium bodied, average carbonation, and relatively low ABV at 4.9%.
Overall - I thought the filtered version was average and decent for a widely available beer, and the unfiltered version is actually a step up from that. has a decent amount of flavor and drinks perfectly fine.

Had on-tap at the Landwer Cafe in tel-aviv. Poured into a pint glass.
L: Clear copper/amber pour with thick fluffy white head.
S: Toasted malts and light hops. Earthy.
T.F: Follows the nose. Toasted grains and sweet malts. Earthy/nutty... modest hop bitterness. A bit of grass and spice. Light bodied and clean.
O: A fairly generic beer... darker and with a bit more flavor than most lagers... good for a meal, and readily available in Israel.

A good normal beer! I always expect to have this when I go to Jerusalem. Are there even other options in Israel? More interesting than the Budweiser of America or the Nastro Azzuro of Italy, and a bit darker.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle. It pours a hazy, light brown-orange color with a thin ecru colored head that dissipated slowly leaving spotty, soapy lacing. There isn't much of a smell; only some roasted malt, cracker, and mild hops. It has the tastes expected in a Zwickelbier: roasted malt, wheat cracker, a touch of caramel, and a slightly bitter hop finish. The feel is crisp and dry with pleasant carbonation, and it's an easy drinker at 4.9% ABV. Overall, while it's not at the level of the German Zwickels I've tried, it's well made and welcome on a hot, dry summer day.

Here we are, with my second beer from Israel and I can tell you straight away it is better than Maccabee! This unfiltered beer is labeled as a Kellerbier - although I'm not quite sure as I can't read Hebrew... but what is sure that altogether it kind of reminds me of a weak Czech lezák. It's smell definitely, but then its taste is a bit similar to that of a kölsch with its apple-like fruitiness.
Not bad at all!

Served in a pint glass, it pours a dark yellow, mildly clear, with a one-finger head, sudsy, with excellent retention. Streams of bubbles keep surfacing.
The bouquet is lots of malty sweetness, a hint of cream and butter, lager yeast and a slight toastiness.
Nice high carbonation upfront, right after a mild yet assertive sweetness, that blends with a subdued bitterness. Very well achieved balance. Notes of malty toastiness, caramel, honey and lager yeast unveil after the balance.
The finish is long, bittersweet and lager-esque.
Medium to light body, smooth, slightly creamy mouthfeel.
So refreshing and satisfying, this is how all highly commercial lagers should be.
By the way, this is an unfiltered lager, but I really, really doubt that such lonely trait suffices to make this beer a Kellerbier/Zwickelbier style beer.
