Goldstar (not Gold Star) is the "best" of the mass produced Israeli beers. There are a few microbrew places (Dancing Camel, Malka, Jem, etc) but at supermarket prices (in Israel) of about $3-4 per small bottle, demand remains meager. Goldstar is just under $2 per small bottle, which would put it in the premium category in the US, but just goes to show you how expensive things are in Israel.
Color is a lovely amber...but don't let that get your hopes up. Smell, taste, and mouthfeel (what mouthfeel?) is more like a lesser Heineken when it hits your lips (reference to Heineken is not a compliment).
If you are in Israel, try one, and then feel sad that this is their best option. I end by saying something nice...it is an easy-to-drink and refreshing (highly carbonated) beer which is better than the mass-produced American lagers (piss).

Got it from Israel.
A - Reddish oak caramel color. White foam staying less then minute. Low carbonation.
S - Lots of red fruits. Pale lager malt with some alcohol aroma.
T/M - Very cheap. Taste like washed medium quality dark lager. Only caramel in the mouth, watery, medium carbonation and bitter aftertaste.
O - It is not worth of taste it.

A: The beer is clear yellowish amber in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that died down but never completely faded away.
S: Light aromas of dark malts and sweetness are present in the nose.
T: The taste similar to the smell and has some additional hints of toffee to go along with the dark malts and bits of sweetness.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied but a little watery on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is a cut above Euro Dark Lagers and doesn't taste overly watered down, but lacks the depth of taste of Munich Dunkel Lagers.
