The Flying Corkscrew is a small storefront liquor store that has a pretty decent selection of microbrews (no macros to be found), and also a selection of wine (I don't really drink wine, so I wont comment on the selection). The owner was manning the register when I visited and he was friendly and seemed to have a fair knowledge of beer and was able to point out what was new to Florida. Unfortunately, there were no prices to be found on anything and after putting together a mixed six pack it came to over $15 for beer that I'm sure I could have gotten at a significantly lower price. A decent place to grab a sixer in the neighborhood, but not cheap.

Stopped in here today even though I've already got too much beer. Glad I did, though. Nice to find a place that carries pretty much its entire inventory as singles.

The selection isn't huge, but they carry some nice beers. I was excited to find the Thomas Hooker Liberator and Imperial Porter, and there's also a smattering of New England Brewing, Shipyard, Terrapin, Full Sail, Cocoa Beach, Hoppy, High and Mighty, Cigar City, Weyerbacher, Southampton, Smuttynose, Ringwood, etc. I'm not sure you could do all of your beer shopping here, but if you're looking for singles, this place should be on your list.

Service was very friendly and helpful. I was the only customer when I came in, and the guy working was friendly and chatted about beer for a few minutes to fill me in on what upcoming releases they're expecting.

The prices felt pretty reasonable to me for singles. I'm willing to pay a small premium to be able to try something without buying a sixer, and they felt like pretty small premiums. The White Oak Jai Alai I bought was $3 for a single.

Overall: Definitely a nice source for singles, so I'm sure I'll be checking back in occasionally.

I've been going to The Flying Corkscrew for about three years now. It used to be located near my house in downtown Melbourne, but sadly (for me), it moved to it's current location in Indian Harbor Beach (across from Double's Hoagies). Because of the great service and selection, however, I still make the 30 minute drive once a month or so to pick up some new stuff.

The corkscrew really focuses on US craft beer. Their selection of imports is pretty limited, but they have the best craft beer selection in town by far. Ken, the owner, is always there manning the counter, and he always has the latest on new releases, production stats, availability, and just about anything else you want to know. He's also a wine connoisseur, and offers an exceptional selection of wine and champagne as well. They have also recently begun selling fine cigars.

One of the great things about the Corkscrew is their events. They are constantly giving out free beer and wine at weekly tastings where he opens up some new brews to monthly events where distributers and experts come in and teach the public a little somthing about beer or wine. If you stop in, you can add yourself to their mailing list to recieve updates on events.

Their main product is bottled beer, but they're also the place to go if you want to buy a keg of pretty much any brew distributed to the central Florida area. I regularly buy soda kegs of my favorite craft beer here, and Ken has even been known to throw in freebies like a tap handle to reward customer loyalty. All in all, it's an awesome small business that I'm proud to support. Sometimes a slightly higher pricepoint is worth it when you recieve personalized customer service.

Also, a quick update to the last reviewers comment (Drew966) on pricing; all beer bottles have price stickers attached to them now, so prices are clearly visable.
