From the 650 ml. bottle acquired at the brewery. February 28, 2014, no. 403 of 540. Sampled on March 14, 2014.
The pour is a brandy colored amber with a thin white head and little carbonation.
Aroma of apples, liquor, and toasted caramel malts. Hop sensation low.
The body is light to medium.
The taste really brings out that apple and brandy character as promised with the caramel malts on the sweet side and a slight alcohol bite at the end. It might age out another 6-8 months quite well.

The apple brandy barrel aging really comes through in the first taste. I think perhaps a little cellar time will help the sharpness of the brandy taste.
Overall I think this is a very drinkable Tripel.
As the case in my cellar ages I will update my review.

Bottle from the Brewery.
Pours a slightly hazy deep golden color with a smallish bubbly white head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of sweet, bready, honey, pilsner maltiness with bits of caramel apples and some light earthen oak and a faint peeper and clove. The flavor is quite nice! Sweet caramel with a fruity and pomme like character offset with a bit of light spice and a brandy and oak bite. Lingering fruity spicy sweetness long after each sip. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet bubbly light syrupy mouthfeel. Wow, that is a mighty fine beer right there!
