Notes/Commercial Description:
This straw colored beer greets with an aroma of noble hops, pears and Belgian esters. The flavor follows nicely with a moderately spicy hop and Belgian yeast effect buoyed by a soft malt body. The finish is crisp and dry. We enjoy this beer with spicy foods, grilled steaks, grilled chicken and mandarin salad. Where you take it is only limited by your imagination. For those interested in styles, the name of this beer comes from the color over trying to meet any particular style.

A: Thick creamy 2 finger fizzy head with clear murky bright pale grapefruit color.

N: Nose has some yeast, Belgian malts, slightly sweet aromas, light spicy and floral hops.

T: Slight Belgian malts, some sweetness, crisp, some citrus and bitterness being pretty pale, some slight yeasty flavors that add a little fruity Belgian quality.

M: Medium body with great carbonation.

F: Some fruit and citrus linger as it dries off nicely. The hops linger a bit, but the yeasty flavor is long gone. A great example of the style, not overly hoppy, a nice presentation of a Belgian flavor and lighter but nice hops.

Microbrewery from Londonderry, NH that has a fine selection of unique brews. Having tried the Tavern Ale, Berliner Weisse, and Farmhouse Red, I decided to give this one a try.

Appearance: Caramel/toffee color, good carbonation, no head. Somewhat on the cloudy side.

Smell: Apples and pears hit you right off the bat. Some hop notes, but it is very subtle compared to the orchard fruits listed above.

Taste: Despite the floral nose, the hops take center stage with this one. The fruits are subtle in the initial taste and towards the very end I got a hint of cider/pear and that's about it. Bitter hops and caramel dominate the finish. The beer does have a nice mouth feel to it though, very crisp. Somewhat disappointing given the nice nose.

Overall: Not bad but I enjoyed the brews I listed above over this one. I enjoy beers that challenge my palate and this beer simply did not deliver what the nose promised. It is a decent brew, but certainly not a "Beer of the Month" candidate.

Slainte, cheers, hope you enjoy my first review!

22 ounce bottle into tulip, bottled in 2/2014. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon zest, pear, apple, white grape, light banana, bread, biscuit, herbal, grass, pepper, clove, light bubblegum, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, a earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon zest, pear, apple, white grape, light banana, bread, biscuit, herbal, grass, pepper, clove, light bubblegum, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy bitterness/yeast spice on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon zest, pear, apple, white grape, light banana, bread, biscuit, pepper, clove, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and moderately bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good Belgian pale ale. Good balance, robustness, and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Feb. 2014 dated 22 ounce bottle. My first beer from this brewery.

Appearance: Copper with a very durable, creamy bone-colored head. A large amount of visible carbonation. Sheets of lacing coat the glass.

Aroma: A faint “soapy” character; earthy hops; bready malts; mildly funky Belgian yeast.

Taste: Aged apples; wood chips; light bitterness; herbal and earthy.
.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, medium+ soft carbonation.

Overall: decent

22 ounce bomber decanted into an oversized snifter. 6.7% ABV.
Appearance: Brilliant copper with an amazing eggshell head. I have not had a beer in this style that retains its foam cap as well as this one (5/5).
Aroma: Freshly cut apples, maple syrup, brown sugar, and a faint “soapy” character (not unpleasant or out of place). Very nicely layered (4.5/5).
Taste: Pressed apples and pears. Beautiful product of the right malt and yeast combination. No bitterness to report whatsoever (4/5).
Mouthfeel: Medium body, medium carbonation. Lively (4.25/5).
Overall: Of the Belgian Pale Ales I’ve enjoyed lately, most of my favorites have taken the style and spun it into something unique and personalized (unconventional hop additions, Brettanomyces, etc.) But this beer has the balls to just be traditional. Mild noble hop aroma, strong apple and pear smell and flavor, low ABV. I’m impressed (4.5/5).
