With this special release we are excited to partner with the Alzheimer’s Association, MA/NH Chapter and their goal of a world without Alzheimer’s disease.

Unforgettable is a single hopped IPA featuring Warrior hops. With an upfront punch of tangerine and other mild tropical fruit on the nose, Unforgettable has a good amount of back end bitterness, which is where we like it.

From the 22 fl. oz. bottle. The pour is a decent looking slightly hazy light to medium amber-copper. Not a lot of head. The aroma has a keen pale malt note that has a kind if caramel or sweet ester too. Butterscotch too. The body is medium but also a tad astringent. The flavor is yeasty, light malts, and a good dry hop finish. This is designed to raise money for Alzheimer's research so whether you like it or not - it is great cause. (436 characters)

Poured into an imperial pint glass. Color was a medium straw amber with a 1 finger white fomay head. A few minutes of rest, the head was down to a thin layer, that barely clung to the sides of the glass. Constant carbonation rose from the bottom. Aroma seemed to be a slightly sour fruit smell with a bit of malt mixed in. Picked up a bit of citrus current hiding in there. None of the normal hoppy aroma I would expect. Flavor started out a malty mellow, but then slowly built up to a hoppy finish. A faint hint of fruity helped cover the transition between the two. Felt ok in the mouth. A smidgen thin on the coating, with a bit of bubbly on the tongue. Left a bit of a hoppy bitter feel in the mouth afterwards. Not bad, but wouldn't buy again at $8. A bit of leeway on the price due to the low bottle count.

Batch 2, August 2012, bottle 49 of 96. Label did say 5.5% ABV, not the 7.00% listed here. (903 characters)

Poured from a bomber into a true pint, the beer is a slightly hazed, unfiltered, yellow-gold coloring with a thin, frothy, bright white head that settles into place and sticks around while you drink. Sediment throughout the beer. Aromas are unique and subtle, with a light biscuity backbone and some citrusy highlights, as well as a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg spicing. Flavors are a bit more malty than expected, with a late-blooming hops presence that brings a touch of resin, as well as peppery spices. Citrus blending of grapefruit, lemon, and orange highlight nicely. The hops come through into the aftertaste, as well, with a bitter, slightly drying effect at this point in the palate, with some heavily roasted character, also. Smooth, very balanced finish remains light and dry. Very tasty. (799 characters)

Batch 2 8/2012 bottle 5 of 96
Pours a fairly clear light golden color with a medium sized bone white head that persists for a while leaving lots of sticky lace on the way down. The aroma is quite tropical fruity as promised with a bready and light caramel backbone. The flavor picks up where the aroma left off, huge hit of tangerine, orange, tropical fruits with a sweet grainy malt deep in the background. Fairly dry finish with a long lingering sweet orange flavor embedded into my palette. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet light syrupy mouthfeel. This is a nice IPA, its definitely different but its nice to see how a single shines in a beer. I would have liked a bit more bittering hops, but that's my personal preference. (755 characters)

Batch 2, August 2012, bottle 33 of 96.

A: Pours a very hazy pale orange with some floaties. Decent sized frothy white head. Fades slowly with excellent retention. Lots of fluffy lacing on the glass.

S: Nice juicy fruit aroma. Some apricot, tangerine, mango and peach. Swear I even get a touch of coconut.

T: Follows the nose nicely. Loads of fruit mentioned above. In the middle there is a bit of caramel but it's mostly sweet fruit notes. Finishes with a decent wave of bitterness. Touch drying.

M: Medium bodied and smooth.

O: Very interesting single hop IPA. Very juicy and sweet. Just enough bitterness to be an IPA but nothing overpowering. Very smooth and drinkable. I like it. (691 characters)

Batch 1; bottle 25 of 175.

A: Pours a hazy, reddish-golden amber with a nice, fluffy, off-white head. Not as much of a looker as some other White Birch beers or other IPAs, but pretty enough, and that's not really why we're here anyway.

S: Smell is a bit faint, but nice and pungent with some definite tangerine notes, as promised on the bottle. The beer was over a month old when I had it, so even fresher and the nose might have been stronger. As it was, the smell was very pleasant but distant.

T: Big and juicy, with lots of tangerine, tropical fruits, maybe some apricots. This is one of the juiciest, fruitiest IPAs I've had in a long time. Normally, I go more for the piney/grassy/floral IPAs, but this was a great reminder of how good fruity ones can be, and even without the more typical citrus notes. This was wonderfully juicy, neither sweet nor bitter, and really delicious. It's single-hopped with Warrior hops, a varietal I'm not too familiar with, but I'm assuming that's where the distinct flavor comes from.

M: Full and slightly sticky, but not at all dry. Solid.

O: This is one of the best IPAs I've had in awhile, and has me reconsidering my preference for floral/grassy IPAs. Between the juiciness of the hops and the relative lack of bitterness--just a hint at the end of the sip--this was dangerously drinkable. Their website says it's a rotating release, and I hope it gets rotated in pretty soon--I'd love to see this in bottles and on-tap. With some of the proceeds going to the Alzheimer's Association of Mass & NH, this is a beer I can feel good about drinking while enjoying thoroughly. (1,619 characters)

A - Foggy pale yellow and much less head than expected. Not too much retention but little droplets of lacing clinging to the glass.

S - Strong malty'ness with lemon

T - Crisp and refreshing. Great malt profile with citrus coming from the Belgian yeast. No hint of any banana that steers me away from most Belgians.

M - Thin but refreshing. Medium/strong carbonation and mouth left with spiciness as the label described.

O - Not a beer I would typically drink but I like this. Perfect for this stifling heat wave we have in New England, transporting me to some outdoor cafe in Europe, sipping a pilsner.
Also glad to see proceeds going to charity. Wouldn't mind seeing more of this from other craft brews. (709 characters)

A - 4.25 - Nice head, nice lacing, nice color - kind of a darker golden color, good head retention

Smell - 4.0 - Nice aroma

Taste - 4.75 - Very tasty! A nicely balanced Belgian ale - just what I was looking for at this moment - not over the top on any level - very drinkable - satisfied the ale urge and the Belgian want without a huge hit of alcohol. Very nice.

Mouthfeel - 4.25 - Light and refreshing

Overall - 4.5 - Just really hard to find anything not nice to say - I would drink this beer anytime. This is a great beer! (529 characters)
