Belgian-style bomber, served with a 3 Brewers chalice.
This beer pours a medium pale reddish brown colour, with one finger of soapy off-white head, which leaves no lace as it drops away. It smells of mild yeast, dark fruity malt, sugary raisins, and earthy, weedy hops. The taste is mild raisiny malt, a very subtle woody sweetness, and earthy hops. The carbonation is a little too strong at first, but tails off, the body is decently weighty, and a bit cloying overall, and it finishes a bit off-dry, some clammy sweetness persisting.
This seems like the latest dumbed-down entry into Canada's maple beer scene. Nice presentation, but pretty average otherwise.
