Via phyl21ca in CanBIF 2012. Poured into a tulip at ~6C. Bottle has a date code of 22072014 on it. Who says an IPA can last for 2+ years?  Great label art hindered by the use of Comic Sans (
A: Somewhat hazy, orangey brown with tan head that drops to a thin cap and laces minimally. 4
S: Thick sweet maltiness with no hop aroma. So very off for the style. 2
T: Malty with a mild sweetness with dark dried fruits in it. A hint of earthiness and a bitterness that balances and builds, but once again where are the hops?2.5
M: An almost creaminess that plays with the bitterness and sweetness. 3.5
O: If I had to guess this is an old bottle, though thy claim it is somehow still good for over 2 more years?  Geez. Not good. If this is what you get in Québec when you buy an IPA then no kidding they don't like the style. 2.5

Deep copper colour, 2 fingers of off white head, some lace, quite a few chunky floaties in here though. Smell is dank and full of piney hops, resiny, big hop and malt bill, sweet toasted scents as well, faint citrus. Taste follows the nose with dank pine and bitter hops, big sweet caramel malt, spicy and almost rye like and leaves faint barley wine like falvours at points. Medium carbonation, medium body. Not very impresive, 6 oz was more than enough, not what you would expect from IPA
