A - A touch hazy so it must be unfiltered with a light amber body and a 1/4 inch of head that turns to a thick lace ring. A nice sticky lacing.

S - Yep as suspected malt forward with slight bursts of pine and citrus hops. Does smell balanced.

T - Malt and hops are pretty balanced. Can't say the hops are too aggressive or the malt being too sweet and bready. Not bad. Slight linger of bitterness on the palate.

M - Light to medium quite good for the ABV.

Overall not as clean and refreshing as most of my favorite IPA's but not muddled and overly bitter like some I have had. Good beer but I couldn't see myself getting it again.

A: Dirty Hazy Amber with a medium off white head.

S: Big hop aroma, crystal malt. Has floral, as well as cinnamon notes.

T: For an IPA this is very malt heavy. It has a caramel sweetness and roasted barley profile that ends with crystal malt kick. Some amounts of floral hops in the way of citrus and grapefruit notes. Very nice satisfying finish with warming alcohol.

M: Medium to heavy, with medium carbonation. Slight bitterness, but not high.

O: Wow, I was really impressed by this beer. Great balance of flavors which is hard to find in an IPA. A little under hopped for an IPA, but I would certainly recomend this beer. Not designed for the hop head. Im surprised it hasnt gotten the accolades it deserves.

An amber color hue thus red wagon is. On top sits a fluffy and dense off white head thats abit small. It fades to some nice lacing. Very lightly carb'd. Aroma is a mixed bag of hops and malts. Taste off sweet malts maybe even vienna since I can pick up fainted toasted malts. Hops are light. Medium weight on the palette, dry and a clean finish. This beer is pretty much just average at best.

amber in color, light copper tone to it with a nice head of white on top that lasted for a good few minutes before settling down into nothing. Light citrus hops, well balanced against a solid malty back drop, really well done as it seemed to come together perfectly, Crisp, clean, light on the palate, this was asessionable, beer drinkers IPA that could be thrown down with great ease.

Very light and very drinkable

A - Pours a crystal clear amber color with a 1.5 finger tan head. The bubbles hold up for a descent amount of time.

S - Rich crystal malt, pine, herbal hops, doughy yeast, ruby red grapefruit juice.

T - Toasted biscuit, pine and herbal hops rides along the sweet malt and sticks to the teeth and gums. Some bitter lime peel, cranberries, and pecan shell comes out on the finish. The malt carries through but dries out on the finish.

M - Medium to full body, medium to moderate carbonation.

Slightly aggressive malt background but other than that a balanced and straight forward beer.

I poured a bottle of this IPA into a pint-style glass. That yielded a brownish-orange beer with a very quickly dissipating head. It smelled faintly of yeast (like a fresh warm bread).

I found the beer to have an uncomplicated but pleasant taste. I tend to like relatively high-hopped ales and this beer is not really in that category. The malts and hops are fairly evenly balanced, which yields a taste that many consumers might find bland. It is far superior to the average American mass-market lager because it has some interesting competing flavors creating a bit of depth, but anyone who strongly favors either malt or hops is going to be a bit disappointed in this IPA.

Update: I edited this review and slightly upgraded the rating because I sampled another bottle. I would drink this again, but I would not seek it out.

Served in a pint glass

A: Pours a medium brown with a slight amber twinge, pours very clean with a small amount of head that dissipates quickly,
S: Nice dark sweetness with a slight underlying hopiness and maple maltiness
T: Pretty decent taste, deeper hopiness than for my particular taste but still nice
M: Strong carbonation initially followed by a nice depth and a slight lingering dryness
O: Nice representation of the style for a small brewery, nice taste for 7% ABV

The beer pours a dark golden/amber color with a thick frothy off-white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is decent. It has a malt forward scent that boasts of pale, crystal, and biscuit malts. The hop aroma is tame at best. The taste is decent as well. It has a wonderful malt flavor that's sweet with crystal malts, but also bitter with a mild hop character. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a full bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a good drinking beer, but not the best IPA on the market.

Asked my girlfriend to order this for me while I ran off to the men's room, so it was sitting and waiting for me when I returned...no head at all, and very minimal lacing. Smell was virtually non existent. At least, I expected a little hoppiness. Taste, unfortunately, followed smell and there was, well...nothing! Brown water with some moderate carbonation. I left it to warm a bit, as it was probably too cold coming out of the tap....but it didn't get any better. In fact, it didn't change at all. Disappointing night cap...

Fire Island Red Wagon IPA…..in the bottle….

Appearance-Dark red to light brown color…medium head with a lock of thickness, settles down nicely.

Smell-balanced smell of hops and malt, piney bread combination, pungent aroma that stayed with me.

Taste/Mouthfeel-well balanced flavor, hops slightly win out over malt with a refreshing taste backed up nicely. Medium to heavy mouthfeel, exceptional smoothness on the way down as well. Slight fruit notes.

Overall-well done tasty IPA, goes to show that balance can take you a long way. Cheers.

A - Pours orange with a healthy foam head. Lively foam on top.

S - Smells of malt and sugar. For an IPA this really has no hoppy presence in the smell.

T - Nice balance from the sweet malts and hops. Not bitter on the back end.

M - Medium bodied. The ABV is masked fiarly well.

O - A kinda interesting IPA that doesn't go for the hoppy bitterness. Probably works well as a gateway to craft.

A&S: Pours a dark copper with a thin layer of head. Lots of hops in the scent with a bit of malt.

T&M: I get some nice hop bitterness up front followed by some malt flavor finishes, medium bodied mouthfeel with a good amount of carbonation.

D: Pretty drinkable IPA, hops don't kill the tastebuds and there is a good balance of malts. The only thing that's slightly concerning is the 7% abv.
