With the new laws in TN regarding beer sales, Vine and Barrel is a welcoming sight to the area. One my first visit they didn't have the beer I was looking for, so I inquired about them mentioning it to their distributer. The following week it was on the shelf. AWESOME!!! Large variety of cans, bottles, high gravity beers and a growler filling station of about 10-12 rotating beers on tap. Well done Vine and Barrel, Well done.

Though we live in Australia, we visit my wife’s family in Chattanooga at least twice a year, and Vine and Barrel is always a mandatory stop.

They have a great range of beers- from local boutique beers, well known craft names from California, Colorado and elsewhere, and many of the finest beers Belgium and Germany have to offer.

Though the staff might not always be able to provide recommendations, they very helpfully provide tags next to the beers with details and scores from your favourite reputable online beer review site, as well as IBUs and tasting notes.

One great feature of V&B is the specials. They often get in batches of close to best-by beers ($5 bottles of La Chouffre) and multipacks that are split to clear out quickly ($2 Belgian Abbey ales).

This is by far the best beer selection we’ve found in Chattanooga.

This place has the best beer selection in the Chattanooga area without having to go into Georgia. Beverage World in Fort Oglethorpe is the only place that can top it. Anyone visiting from out of state should know that in TN anything over 6.2%ABV must be sold in a liquor like this one.

This was my first visit to this store. I'm not sure why I've just now found out about this place. This is a big store with nice wide aisles. The store seems like a new building and is very clean. Seemed to have a really nice wine & liquor selection but I spent most of the time scoping their beer. They had 2 or 3 cooler doors full of beer and an entire aisle of unchilled beer. They also had several beers that I have never seen in this area including a bottle of DeuS. They had Troegs Java Head and I was not aware we were getting Troegs in TN. I asked about other Troegs offerings and was told Java Head was the only thing they'd ever carried but they would look into it and for me to check back. A couple things seemed a little over priced but most items were comparable to everyone else in the area.

I was really impressed by this store and will definitely be returning. If you're in Hixson, do it!

It's a very clean, well-lit place with a ton of wine and liquor. They've got a surprising selection (SA Utopias) but it is mostly Belgians with your run-of-the-mill unknowns and a few nice ones thrown in (stone, north coast, etc). I found some vintage Rochefort 8 with no price but when I brought it up to the counter they tried to charge me $11 a bottle!!

The staff was nice but unknowledgeable when it came to their beers, which is sort of understandable because it is not their focus. All the same, know your product. Not a bad store if you're north of Chattanooga but Riverside Beverage and Beverage World are a must for any BAs in this area.

I'm pretty sure I ran into donmonkey1 on my 1st time into this store. :)

This place is a HUGE liquor/wine store that does keep two coolers full of craft brew and an another isle of the same brews and some extras on the shelves. Good selection at some of, if not the best prices in Chattanooga.

All the typical Stone and Unibroue offerings, with some off the wall choices as well. The staff is not all that knowledgeable, but they are nice enough. Each time in, I become more of a fan. Be sure to check your expiration dates...

Overall the store is nice, the staff friendly, and the selection can't be beaten in Chattanooga.

This is definitely one of the nicest and largest liquor stores in Chattanooga. The place is clean, well lit, and has a lot of parking. I talked with the owner on my last visit and he told me that he stocks every beer that he's legally allowed. There's an isle dedicated to beer only, and most of them are also in the cooler.

I like the staff and they try hard to help you, but they don't know anything about beer. It's the only real drawback to the place. But with such an outstanding selection at such reasonable prices, I'll definately be back on a regular basis.
