A - Appeared a dark brown with some ruby hued highlights...a small tan head formed and fell pretty quickly...some lacing left at the top

S - The blueberry aroma teters between being "real" and fake...not much else going on in the nose

T - The blueberries dominate up front...they are sweet and again they don't taste fake which is a plus...the stout part of the beer isn't well developed...the chocolate malts present an almost burnt, not roasted, flavor...that burnt taste brings out the bitterness in the chocolate flavor

M - Medium bodied...thin for a stout...dry

D - The idea for this one was okay but it didn't work out too well...the blueberry flavor was nice but the stout part came up a little short

Saw this as a single and curiosity finally killed the cat. 12 oz bottle pours a dark brown color showing a few highlights around the edges. Tan foam is decent enough and even leaves a little bit of lacing.

Nose is blueberry pie with a side of blueberry cream cake. Really not much else, but at least is smells fairly natural unlike the abomination that is Wild Blue.

Chocolate blueberry pie? The alcohol is not hidden well enough and the body lacks the creaminess of a good oaty stout. This should most definitely be classified as a fruit beer as the blueberry is quite prominent, calling it an imperial stout is not cool. The blueberry tartness clashes with the chocolaty and roasty malt, which I am glad it has in the fist place. I can actually finish this, not sure I would make it going into this beast. Most definitely not worthy of a six-pack purchase, but makes for a decent little novelty brew.

The beer poured a nice dark rich color with specks of oatmeal dancing around in the glass. A nice hint of blueberry aroma, which was not in any way overpowering. The beer was smooth going down with more hints of blueberries and malts. A very enjoyable beer.

Black colored beer with a rapidly fading head.Aroma is blueberry pie with fudge sauce.Taste also is blueberries and cocoa powder.Very smooth and goes down like silk.I thought this was a pretty damn good beer and would highly recommend.I'm pretty sure I will be buying this again shortly.

Poured into 10oz glass. Poured a barely translucent black with a deep tan head that dissipated a bit on the quick side and left decent lacing.

The aroma was mostly roasted malt with a definite blueberry scent. The flavors were similar with the blueberry being a little stronger on the tastebuds than it was in the nose.

The body was typical for this type of stout. The drinkability was decent, but will depend on your taste for sweetness of the blueberries.

Overall, a decent beer that's worth a shot if you see it.

Thanks for AKBelgianBeast for this one in that I lost the LNBA FF.

A- Dark in the glass, but when poured is very light brown. The tan head is there, but leaves quickly.

S- The blueberry is there, and smells like blueberry pie. There is a nice chocolate smell coming through too. It isn't a bad smell.

T- Now the blueberry comes though, but it feels like the makers made some random standard "stout recipe" and threw blueberries into it. The stout portion isn't developed very well and this has a real acrid bitter taste to it. The blueberry flavor is there for sure, so that part has come though, but this bitterness just kills the whole thing all together. I know dark beers and fruit are a great idea, but make sure you have a rocken dark beer recipe for a backbone to allow the fruit flavor to fall back upon. If not it just becomes this crap beer with fruit flavor, making this just a mess.

M- Medium bodied, with carbination, but the bitterness is not a pleasant mouthfeel. Kinda drys out the tongue too.

D- Yeah you can drink this, but I wouldn't advise in buying it.

Took a flyer on this at Goebbels

Pours an effervescent mahogany with 2 fingers of mocha colored head. Average lacing & near zero head retention

S: Blueberry syrup

T: Blueberry , iron, & charred grain & dryness up front. Dryness, a touch of booze warmth & coffee kick in once warm, along with just a bit too much blueberry for me once warm. Finishes Powdery dry , too sweet (all blueberries) & with a touch of baker's chocolate

MF: Medium bodied, slightly sticky & warming, fairly noticeable carbonation

Drinks okay, but, too much blueberry & not enough stout going on for me right here. One & done for me. If I'd read the label closer I would've ditched this, for some reason I thought Pyramid did this. Time to start carrying some reading glasses on my beer safaris...

Pours a light and clear brown color with no head, just a few white bubbles here and there. The aroma is very sweet and very blueberry with a subtle malty aroma to balance it. This is echoed in the flavor which is also sweet and the blend of strong blueberry flavor and the supporting maltiness creates the illusion of a blueberry pancakes in liquid form. The body, however, is very light and slightly flat which brings out a little tartness and makes the drink and finish very quick. More body and perhaps a more grain flavored malt and this is a beer you can drink at breakfast with some eggs and bacon.

Buffalo Bill's Blueberry Oatmeal Stout

A: Pours out a deep reddish black and topped with a sandy brown one inch thick head, but
it bubbles away into a ring and leaves no lacing. Does not really look like a stout, looks
lighter than the beer would indicate.

S: Lots of blueberries but not a natural blueberry, more like a blueberry ice-cream
kind of sugaryness. It's a shame there is not more going on beyond this.

T/MF: Tastes like blueberry sun-tan lotion, not much stout, more like a blueberry strong
ale, syrupy with traces of malt sweetness but really the blueberry dominates and takes
over what could have been an interesting flavor combination if some flavors were dialed
up and others dialed down. things are just a bit out of balance here and it detracts from
the overall drinking experience. Feels light for a double stout, a bit too effervescent and dry.

D: Not terrible, an interesting beer in its own right, but as far as style guidelines go
does not match up like it should.

First thing is, this is from a bottle that's over a year old. Interesting. Poured aggresively and got a small to medium fine tan head and some lace. Head quickly settled to a thin cover. Color is an opaque brownish black. Aroma is blueberry traditional stout. Flavor's about the same. Nice thing is, the blueberry doesn't hit you over the head. Actually not too bad, although it wouldn't be one of my favs. Little bit of a weird finish. Don't pick up much of the alcohol.

drops to 1/4'' that sticks around for the duration. Minimal lacing left.

S- This was the highlight of the beer for me....Blueberry,malts, and coco.

T- The malt/hops blend seems to be off. Maybe it's the high level of carbonation that's throwing me off here. The blueberries are present on the backend of the brew. I'm not getting much of the coco that I smelled. It's very sweet and not as bitter as I would have preferred. As it warms the blueberries become more prevalant.

M- Wayyy to much carbonation for me. Not creamy at all, it was very thin.

D- Easy to drink despite being overly carbonated. I could drink it all night, however, I don't think I would want to. I'd drink it again, but there are def better options out there. This was a different stout for sure. I'm just not sure if it's a good different.

Picked this one up on whim because my girlfriend was curious about it. Admittedly, I was a little hesitant because I couldn't really imagine a "fruity" stout. The good news is that the blueberry taste is not overwhelming at all, not too sweet. It has a nice pour and an decent taste. I can appreciate both the stout and blueberry qualities but it's just too hoppy for my taste.

It's a bit more carbonated than most stouts and pretty thin in feel. I'm glad I tried it but would probably not purchase it again.

12oz bottle

A- Pours a dark brownish black color with a light tan head.

S- The aroma is more blueberries than stout. In fact, I'm picking up very little roasted malts in the nose like expected from most stouts.

T- The taste thankfully resembles a stout more than the aroma did. It starts out with a pretty smooth roasted malt backbone with a touch of sweet blueberry flavor in the finish. Not bad, definitely something different.

M- The mouthfeel is between light and medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation.

D- Overall, not outstanding but I would recommend trying this beer solely for its uniqueness. Worth a shot.

Buffalo Bill's Oatmeal stout Blueberry

I like the label on this beer, the blueberries look appealing. Anyway, it pours a dark brown with a head not lasting for more than a minute, but this usually happens with fruit beers. The brew glows a deep mahogany at the bottom of the glass; this beer doesn't seem lively but is still a pleasure to look at. Wow! They hit the nail on the head with the smell. It smells of sweet caramel malt complimented in accordance with blueberry, but it's not overwhelming. Not bad for a fruit beer. I can see myself drinking this on occasion, their pumpkin beer is better. Sweet caramel hits the tongue first followed by a combo of blueberry and maybe chocolate malt? I can't quite tell, the blueberry is dominant compared to the other flavor anyhow. Has a subtle boozy ending. Thick beer, heavy mouth feel, semi-wet finish.

That's all I got on this one. Give it a try if you enjoy fruit beers, you won't be disappointed.

12 oz bottle poured into a Sprecher Nonic. 7.5% ABV, 3149 on the label.

A - Clear dark brown with a tiny hint of purple prune-ish color. Almost black in the glass with a one-and-a-half finger head. Creamy and cream colored, it had alright retention with some thick lace left over.

S - I never thought I'd be smelling blueberry yogurt aroma out of an oatmeal stout. Real blueberries with a strong roasted malt nose. The juxtaposition of these two scents is rather odd but it's slowly growing on me.

T - Again, the juxtaposition of the flavors is a bit odd. A tart smack of blueberries hits right away followed by a roasted malt flavor and bitterness that balances sort-of awkwardly with the tart blueberry flavor. It tastes fairly real though, not syrupy.

M - Not as creamy as I'd like to see it for an oatmeal stout. The bitter and tart finish isn't too bad but I'm not getting into the high level of carbonation (for the style).

D - Definitely different. Not awful at all but not that good. Just different. It's an ok drinking beer I don't think I'll ever have again. One of Buffalo Bill's gimmicky beers I guess.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: Pours dark brown, with two fingers of off-white head that subsides fairly quickly. Light can be seen shining through the beer when held up to the light. Lots of lacing.

Smell: A nice blend of blueberries and chocolatey, sweet malt. Some nutty notes as well. The blueberry is definitely present, but not overpowering. Very nice.

Taste: A mild acidic bite from the oatmeal, backed by a mild sweetness from the blueberries. There is a fairly strong bitterness throughout the beer, though I can't distinguish if it's from roasted malts or from hops. A mild malt sweetness and a hint of blueberries on the finish. The overall flavor is mild, and the blueberry influence is subtle.

Mouthfeel: Good body, and good carbonation. Usually I like imperial stouts thicker, but for the combination of flavors, it works.

Drinkability: I was surprised to find out this one was an Imperial stout, with a 7.50 ABV. I thought it was much, much lighter. This tastes much more like a normal stout, with blueberry flavors. It doesn't have the depth of flavor to really be considered an Imperial. This beer tastes like one I could enjoy several of, but the high ABV prevents that. That being said, I really, really enjoyed this.

I liked this beer a lot. If this were a normal American Stout and not an Imperial, my ratings would be even higher.

12 oz bottle poured in a pint glass

Appearance: C- , Pours a dark brown/black with almost no head. What little head it had disappated almost immediately and didn't even leave a film to sit atop the beer. Absolutely no lacing.

Smell: B- , Heavy blueberry aromas with some hop accents as well.

Taste: C , It starts off pretty bad. The blueberry accents are initially pretty weak, being overwhelmed by a poorly balanced malt and hop combo, too heavy on the malt characters for my liking. Its also overly carbonated which masked the smoothness I expect in an oatmeal stout. As it warms in the glass it did get significantly better. The blueberry characters drew out and the smoothness starts to peak through, but still not great by any means. Part of this may have been my fault, I think I drank this beer too cold, and if I had another I would make sure I let it sit for a minute outside of the fridge before I drank it.

Mouthfeel: B , lighter than I expected, and overly carbonated, but leaves a good aftertaste and post-drink mouthfeel which is probably the best part of the beer, which says something.

Drinkability: B , really easy to drink, I could certainly have a couple, but I don't think I would choose to.

Overall not awful, but nothing to write home about. It wasn't what I expected from an oatmeal stout, it reminded me more of a not very good Americal Pale Ale infused with blueberries. I don't plan on getting this again and its not something I would recommend.

(Bottle coded B3209 510 E):

Pours a very dark brown color body, with a huge tan head, average sized bubbles, somewhat diminishing. Very hoppy aroma. Some acidic fruit too. Light fruit taste, berries. Some roasted notes too. Inhaling deep, blueberry, fruit. Almost a fake taste, plasticy. Blueberry aftertaste. Some graininess, but not very good. Sour. More roasted as it warms, but still that fake fruit taste or something. Somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Not offensive, but not very good either. A bit bitter.

(Bottle into English pint) Poured a creamy dark brown almost black with little to no head to speak of. Aroma at first smacks of the blueberry smell, but over time a nice toasted malt flavor comes forward. The most surprising, however, was the subtlety of the blueberry in the mouth. A lively carbonation helps to pull the malts forward, with the blueberry actually as a nice undertone enhancing the roasted flavors. There is a nice smooth finish as both flavors linger just long enough to entice the next sip.

A – Nice stout. Dark brown, tan head that reduces to a thin ring, little lace. Also some strange sediment.

S – Blueberry and booze, not much else. Smells good

T – Peppery tasting stout, with blueberry flavor on the finish. The blueberry lasts a long time after a swig. It seems that the peppery flavor comes from the hop. This beer has very little malt presence given the style. Not overly fruity, either. It has a discernable alcohol twang, which is surprising as it is a relatively mellow for a 2x stout.

M – I like it, very refreshing, not too syrupy, on the heavier side of medium-bodied, with a lil sharp carbonation.

D – This beer is palatable and just overall good; it is one of the best applications of blueberry that I can recall. Probably not the choice for RIS drinkers, though.

Nice dark brown with a slight tinge of red when held up to the light. Small dense head, with some nice fine lacing.
Little bit of malt, hop and roastiness in the aroma, but mostly blueberry.
Taste is slightly roasty and hoppy with the blueberry predominating, but not overwhelming.
The mix is different, but works pretty well together.
A little thin bodied for an Imperial stout.
Finishes smooth.

New to BC this is a better beer than the bottle and the concept appears. Pours like a standard stout but the blueberry notes pick up in the nose and the finish. The beer has a nice fruit note with the blueberry but not overbearing. Not the biggest stout but still reasonably full bodied for the style. Worth trying

Poured out a dark brown with very little head. Ringed with larger than normal bubbles, the highlights are scarce and of tawny port. No lace.

Heady oatmeal stout mixed with guess what? Blueberries! Somewhere between blueberry candy and the real deal, not off putting. Hop spice.

The sweet backbone of the stout rumbles up the tongue leaving a residue of pleasantly faint blueberry. Drying out near the end with a twang of Noble, spicy, earthy hops out the back end. Toffee, caramel. Phenolic when warmed, more syrupy as well.

You can bite into this, it really is a better beer than you're expecting. Subtle carb.

One to two. A novelty that turns out to be good.

Slight head of tan foam, black body. No lace or much that is visually appealing. Pretty typical in appearance. Subtle blueberry is there in the aroma, pretty mild though. Not getting much roast or anything stout worthy.

Flavor is similarly mild, some lightly tart fruit and vague toast flavor. It disappears fast on the palate. Sort of sweet at first, becoming dry in the finish. Average body, it's not something i'd reach for again, but a decent transition beer for the non-craft drinker. 12oz. was from a gift pack sampler.
