Pours a thin black/brown with a tiny blue tinged mocha head that didn't last very long, wait, it's gone.

Smells strong of blueberry bread, not much roasted malt, and a bit of booze.

Taste is a flash of hop(wtf?) up front. A touch of the malt is present, but alcohol overrides most, and a blueberry finish/aftertaste.

Feels thin, bubby, burny, easily my least favorite aspect of the beer.

While thankfully not listed as a imperial, one should note that it definitely delivers on the blueberry. Easy to drink since it feels light, yet still has a good abv.

A-dark brown but if held to direct light it appears a dark burtn umber

S-blueberries are apparent as soon as the bottle is opened and really come out in the pour

T-metallic blueberry with some pepper not a lot of other flavors come through the metallic taste for me

M-medium body and good carbonation

O-I can't get by the metallic aftertaste in this one

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.

Look – jet black with about half a finger’s worth of dark khaki-colored foam that dissipates slowly.

Smell – actually, the blueberry aroma seems a bit allusive. It’s there, but masked behind the smell of stout and even a hint of chocolate.

Taste – again, the taste of blueberry isn’t quite noticeable, in fact, it seems less noticeable in the taste than in the smell. General dark taste of a stout, lacking some of the thicker qualities of an oatmeal stout, and tinged with more bitterness than I would have expected.

Mouthfeel – more on the creamier side, as one would have expected from a stout.

Overall – not a bad concept, but it seems a little half-hearted. I only say that due to the blueberry’s lack of presence. Had it been a little more prominent, this brew might gained a little more noteworthiness. Not at all bad tasting though.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. This pours a dark brown with a tan head. The smell is mostly of artificial blueberries. The feel is medium to light, lighter than most stout. The taste is okay, blueberries and bitter stout, but not something I'd get again.

Random pick at Beer Crazy.

It's a nice and cloudy dark red with a copious amount of foam. The aroma has a decent amount of blueberry and a bit of wheat. The taste is more wheat with the blueberry component more noticeable at the end but seeming kind of artificial. It's quite smooth and the 7.5% doesn't come on fast. It's decent.

A - Black in color but when held at light was transparent. Poured a small tan head with medium sized bubbles. The beer lacked any head after a short while that left the glass streak free.

S - Big blueberry nose, I find it to be a little bit of an extract smell but quite pleasing and natural as well. Very faint milk chocolate notes present.

T - There are some burnt coffee flavors trying to squeeze through but are overcome by the blueberry presence. Not completely one-sided though. Finishes dry which is a little surprising. The oatmeal gives the beer a silky start but is lost when the blueberry shows up.

M - Medium to full bodied with light carbonation.

O - I am a huge fan of oatmeal stouts and I am usually accepting of fruity experiment beers but this lacked many qualities of a good oatmeal stout. The blueberry was pleasant but on the side of overwhelming.

Appearance. Pours cola brown with a little haze and a small bubbly head that down't last loang.

Smell. Choclatey, lightly roasted grains with some nice sweet blueberry.

Taste. Floral blueberries, some chocolate and grains, some earthy bitterness, slightly tart.

Mouthfeel. Medium body, medium carbonation.

Overall. Too bad this has the bitterness. The blueberry tastes okay but there seems to be some perfumy floral taste going on. Not really my thing.

Poured into a Chimay goblet. No readable freshness date.

A- Pours a mostly opaque black color with a 1/2 inch of head that quickly dissipates to a paper-thin ring around the edge of the glass and some light surface foam.

S- Plenty of sweet blueberry notes and not a whole lot else.

T- Spicy and slightly tart blueberry that's relatively intense but not so much that it's a sugary overload. Pretty well-balanced compared to other blueberry beers. Could be due to the oatmeal characteristic. Some black pepper notes linger as well.

M- Slick and creamy making it fun to drink. Also kind of light for a stout. Medium-low carbonation.

O- A very enjoyable brew in all aspects. I'm beginning to think there may be something to this Buffalo Bill's.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter.

A: Medium brown pour. Super dark brown and very light on the edges. One finger light tan head with good retention and great lacing.

S: Big blueberries. Kind of a metallic blueberry aroma. Slight caramel, chocolate, and roasted notes.

T: Light caramel and chocolate on the tip of the tongue. Big blueberries dominate. Very artificial. You can almost taste the can they were in. The metallic flavors are bitter. A touch of sweetness comes towards the finish, along with oatmeal and big alcohol. Big for a 7.5% beer. Not much of an alcohol sting but just a rubbing alcohol taste.

M: Light body, bordering on watery. Not much else besides a light alcohol sting lingering on the tongue and in the throat.

O: My first Buffalo Bill's beer and disappointed. I think I've heard good things about their pumpkin ale. This was pretty bad. Not much works with this beer at all. Not a drain pour, but damn close. Definitely stay away, unless you need the tic.

12 fl oz bottle served in a snifter:

A - Presents a dark brown/black color with a creamy, tan head of 2 fingers. Retention is decent at best.

S - Strong blueberry aromas, but they don't seem entirely artificial. Roasted malt is countered with cream.

T - Blueberry opens, but is actually countered rather nicely by roasted malt and chocolate. I expected the blueberry to be overpowering, but it's not. Simple, but works well for what it is. Quite creamy.

M - Full, coarse and dry on the finish, nearly ideal for a stout.

D - I was pleasantly surprised by this beer. Not an award winner, but certainly a good all around beer. (Also, the first blueberry beer I've had that's any good).

Poured from a 12oz bottle. Dark muddy brown with a tan head.

Before this beer even gets in the glass it's straight up blueberry muffins in the room. That's really all I'm getting, but that's a good thing because I like blueberry muffins.

Two things on the palate, it's got a lot of tartness and the alcohol is out of whack. I was a bit nervous when I saw the 7.2% on the label and it is hot.

look: 2 | smell: 3 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.5

A- Pours a typical stout color....not quite black, but very dark brown and I can't see much of anything against a white background. The head is a tan color, and isn't all that impressive in terms of thickness, and also settles rather quick into a patchy, albeit dense layer. Lacing is pretty much non existent...overall a somewhat underwhelming look.

S- The primary aroma is of blueberry, both fresh and concentrated candy like versions. There is some other sweet elements noticed, such as caramel, burnt sugar, and dark molasses. There are some tinges of roasty malt and just a slightly boozy smell that reminds me of a liqueur. Not much in terms of traditional stout aromas.

T- The flavors are much better, being much more balanced between sweet and bitter. Of course, the blueberry essence is there, but it is much more subdued and natural tasting. The oatmeal used is much more noticeable, creating a very welcome dryness that lacked in the aroma. Along with this, there is some distinct bitter grain flavors that taste burnt to a point. Overall a nicely flavored stout and great use of the fruit here.

M- Thick to look at and thick on the palate...I really like that balance between fruit and dry stout. It's creamy and really fulfilling...it kind of reminds me of a variation on a dark fruit cake and has hints of a blueberry syrup. Very nice!

O- With the exception of the look and smell, this beer redeemed itself to become quite a nice beverage. Well balanced flavors, not being overly sweet, and a nicely textured mouthfeel, I feel that this is a well done take on a fruity style of stout. One knock I'd give it though is that, especially as it starts to warm, the booze becomes increasingly noticeable in both aroma and taste. Otherwise, a decent brew!

A- Pours Black with very light tan head that houses bubbles both large and small.

S- I smelled the bottle and thought, "Gross, this smells like blueberry pancakes mix." And then I read the random neck label, "It's What's for Breakfast". So I guess that's what they were going for? In the glass the blueberry smell isn't quite as potent, and there's more malt. But it's still quite the fruit bomb.

T- Tastes like a wierd kind of bitter soda. The blueberry is really artificial tasting. It reminds me of blue raspberry candy or sherbet. Some roast and nuttiness, but a lot of sweet fruit.

M- It's not overly syrupy for the mouthfeel. But there's a disconnect between the sweetness in the front of my mouth and the bitterness at the back. It's almost like the beer seperates in my mouth into two distinct liquids before I can taste it.

O- My first impression was "Oh boy this is going to be awful", but in the end it wasn't awful, just not very good. A blueberry stout or porter, or even brown ale could be a delicious combination, but this one falls short by quite a bit.

12oz bottle, an impulsive grocery store grab in Montana a few months ago.

This beer pours a solid black, with cola sides and edges when exposed to the light of day, and two fat fingers of foamy, puffy, speckled beige head, which leaves a few scattered swaths of lace around the glass as it dutifully recedes. It smells of acrid, yet sweet fruit - blueberry, I suppose - bready caramel malt, and a faint boozy edge. The taste is acerbic, fruity, um, evil! There's booze, weak roasted malt, and overwhelmed blueberry essence, almost like someone put out multiple cigarette butts in this horror show. Ugh. The carbonation is on the low side, the body medium weight, but tainted by the same edgy stank, somehow, as the taste. It finishes off-dry, sort-of, with otherwise agreeable malt still suffering egregiously from that unpleasant boozy fruitiness whose name I shall not utter further.

Fuck me, I haven't had reaction like this to a beer outside of a crappy malt liquor/Euro-fuel lager, in well, ever. This one hurts, on a physical and psychological plane. Subtle malt, fruit from hell. 'Nuff said.

Had on tap at the Sunset Grille in Allston MA. Pours a purple/black with a very thin head. Smells of roasted malts and plums/blueberry like it's namesake. Taste is alright, the blueberry is there but is pretty faint behind the general stout taste. Overall not bad but nothing to write home about.

A- This beer looks amazing once it is out of the bottle and in the glass. Has a redish wine tint.

S-SMELLS LIKE BLUEBERRIES! Awesome smell, couldnt wait to drink it!

T- Its a little blah when if comes to the first taste. After drinking it for a bit you can taste the blueberries everytime you breathe. I would say the aftertaste is what made it 3.5 for me, first taste is more of a 2.

M- No head on the beer, wish it had some sort of head. Other than that its not bad going down or anything like that. It was from the bottle so im guessing fresh it would have a head.

O-Ill buy this one again

The beer pours a dark brown color with a white head. The aroma is full of roasted malt with a strong, syrupy blueberry component. The beer is artificial smelling. The flavor is full of blueberry and chocolate with a little bit of roasted malt mixed in. Once again, the fruit in the beer seems artificial and fake. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

A: Very dark with a thin head with little retained.
S: Ugh, artificial blueberry and sweet malts.
T: Double ugh, more artificial tasting blueberry with little roasted malt, but lots of sweetness. The sweetness does not come from the blueberry and this make the beer disjointed.
M: Thin, but the sweetness makes it difficult to drink.

This beer was something I picked up just by chance. The pour was very nice, solid black and a large brown head. Really nice lacing. The smell of the beer has a great aroma of blueberry and roasted malts. The taste of the beer is also rather impressive too, it takes like a toasted blueberry muffin. It's sweet but bitter too. The mouthfeel was pretty thick feeling. Overall I really like this brew a lot. I look forward to trying it again one day.

Impressive beige head (do I detect a touch of purple?). Leaves plentiful amount of lace. Light barely passes through the otherwise black liquor.

Smells of caramelized sugar and fresh blueberries. I'm not sure if these aromas go together well. It's a little bit chalky and biscuity.

Sweet and sour, but not bitter from black patent malt. The blueberry is obvious but the Stout is not. I find this beer to be more tart than bitter. I'd almost make a new beer category for this one--there are darker, but sweet, malts present. The flavor is complex with just a touch of hop bitterness. The body is disappointingly thin, especially for an Oatmeal version of stout.

A: Dark Black, but not unlike any other stout. The lacing is decent, but mine seemed to go away rather quickly, leaving no stickiness behind.

S: You can definitely smell the blueberry. It's very difficult to smell much else.

T: Vanilla and Blueberries overpower this one. Vanilla more up front and then blueberries about 1/2 way through till the finish. The aftertaste is pure blueberry, very sweet.

M: Really Watery, not much too it.

*The appearance of this beer is the best thing I have to say about it. It smells too sweet, and it is too sweet. In my opinion, just the wrong combo/amounts of ingredients in this beer. Won't buy again.

Pours a light fizzy 1/2 finger head with a bit of lacing, over super dark almost black very dark brown color with hints of light coming through.

Nose is exploding with blueberries, a light oatmeal, chocolate, and dark malts under it but mostly just lots of frozen blueberries.

Taste weird, starts with lots of frozen blueberries, then some darker malts but not much, and a weird toasty and earthy stem like flavor that I can't really describe but it's really weird. A light iffy bitterness and some earthy hops that don't blend well with the rest of the beer. Finishes ichy with more of the weird stem flavor and earthy hops as well as blueberries and a bit sticky.

Mouth is medium bodied, light creamy, decent carbonation.

Overall meh, not very good, lots of contrasting flavors, malts are there but waaay overpowered by the blueberries and some weird stem flavors and earthy hops that none of the above blend well.

A : pours a lighter shade of black with ruby edges when held up to the light. thick tan head that goes nowhere.

S : immediate and intense blueberry smell. A bit of sour grape at the end. No stout aromas.

T : very much unlike the smell. Starts a smooth and chewy bread flavor, then hits with a subtle roasted coffee. Blueberry is subtle at the tail end of the beer, which is quite warming on the mouth and belly.

M : well carbed and balanced, but there is an odd astringency. It may be the alcohol or the odd blueberry aftertaste.

D : while easy to drink from a flavor standpoint, I'd only go for one since it is a much different flavor.

I really don't prefer fruit beers, but I thought this was original so I gave it a whirl. The aroma is pretty terrible, but the flavor is good. The oatmeal adds a good heartiness to the beer. It would probably be better with a little less booze and a little less blueberry to mask it. A unique beer that should be tried at least once.

Poured 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass:

A: Pours charcoal black. However, not dark enough to block out the sunlight. Foamy tan head billows up the sides of the glass. Lingers around for a short time before settling.

S: Sweet blueberries. Almost reminiscent of some of the fruit bubble gum that I chewed as a child. Some toasted malts. Blueberry flavor is not overwhelming though.

T: Roasted malts, vanilla, caramel. Then blueberries are apparent in the finish. A bit too sweet for me up front, but this brew balances out a bit by the finish. The oatmeal stout comes out more for me as this offering warms up.

M: I thought that the mouthfeel was too thin and watery for the style. Carbonation was moderate.

D: Overall, I wasn't too fond of this beer. I appreciated trying a new style however. For me, it was two completely different flavors (roasted malts and sweet fruit) that did not mesh well. Will not purchase again.

A creamy flat light brown head. Dark ruby highlights held up to the light. Another shade darker it would be opaque. Nice looking beer.

It smells like your normal Stout with blueberries thrown in it. I didn't think I was going to be able to pick up the aroma of the blueberries but they're noticeable. It's quite interesting.

Okay the taste is weird. The blueberries kind of give it a metallic taste. I get chocolate and burnt caramel in the beginning; then the after taste of metallic bitter blueberry mixed with booze. Weird is all I can say.

Medium body feels nice in the mouth. Light to medium carbonation.

What a let down. I thought the taste was going to be great since I liked the aroma. It really tastes weird, almost medicinal with the added blueberries.
