10 ounce pour in a wineglass. Pitch black, small tan head.
Strong coffee and chocolate aroma. Some vanilla. Some tobacco.
Rich chocolate taste. Coffee. Booze. Tobacco.
Thick and full-bodied. Chewy is as good an adjective as any.
World class.

Pours pitch black into a snifter, with a 1-finger foamy caramel head. As deep and dark as motor oil in the glass. Leaves some solid lacing as the head goes down.
The aroma brings tons of chocolate and coffee with just a hint of vanilla. Very rich aroma.
The flavor. Wow. The menu at Ebenezer's used the word "decadent" to describe this beer, and that is a perfect descriptor. There are waves of chocolate cake, baker's chocolate, brown sugar, and some subtle roasted coffee. Faintly boozy, with just the slightest presence of vanilla.
The feel is as full bodied as it gets. Thick, chewy, and sticky as hell. Moderately low carbonation. Definitely some warmth from the alcohol.
Overall, an incredible stout that is basically a dessert in its own right. The flavor is so decadent and rich that it's impossible to wait for the next sip.

Microbrew sample. Certainly a nice imperial stout. Viscous body. Sweet and full of chocolate syrup and roast and vanilla. Really fudgy and decadent. Lingering alcohol on the back end. A loaded, sweet, rich imperial stout.

At brew pub in Brunswick in a 5oz taster. Pours a dark brown to black with a 1/4 finger tan head and lacing through the entire drink. Smell is unreal, first the vanilla hits and it's a strong cake like vanilla icing smell, then the bitter dark chocolate comes in (like a 85% cocoa dark chocolate), and then a hint of coffe notes come through, finished by my last nose of a Jamaican rum, one of the best smelling beers I've had. Taste is almost as exceptional as the smell, the major taste is like that of a dark chocolate brownie batter and it finishes with just the right kick of that rum taste that came through in the rum smell. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy like a milkshake almost definitely the best feeling beer I've had as well . Over all I give it a 4.5/5 and I will definitely be coming back for more!!
