After I found my way to the "soft" opening of the bar, I brought 25 people from my beer group into the place for a social gig. The Lark is very much like TJ Finely's of Bayshore, though it's smaller and somewhat more updated. I found it to be comfortable with good offset lighting and a decent selection both on tap and in bottle forms. The food was served like tapas and comments from friends said the basic bar food was good. I had both the wings and the turnovers, which I liked, and I could have polished off a few more plates. I noted the mention of a coming cask engine, but as the place was only a week old at the time, one was not there. I particularly liked the Delirium on tap as well as the Weihenstephaner Hefe too. Standing back for moment for a clear view, the new place is likely to become one of the better beer bars on the north shore of LI. As it is new, it still has to work out some details, but I look forward to seeing this place grow and evolve.

Overall it is a great place to grab a brew and a bite. However the bottle beer selection although extensive, is very pricey!!! The draft selection is decent, about 12 beers on tap when I was there, and was more reasonably priced.

In regards to food, the food is good and the menu is diverse and kept simple. The fried mac and cheese is a must try, the wings were mediocre. They had interesting specials, and good burgers however they put a cheddar jalapeño sauce on a lot of things, and it doesn't always belong (i.e. steak sandwich).

All in all I say head there, grab some nice beers on tap have a burger and some fried mac and cheese and you will not be disappointed. Maybe ask them to put the fried mac and cheese ON a burger!!!! MIND-BLOWN

The Lark has quickly become a fan favorite with my closest friends, fiancee and myself as far as bar/ restuarants go.

Our regular server, Jennifer, is top notch and just recently called us to let us know they had just tapped the Ayinger Celebrator - knowing it's one of our favorite beers of all time. That should get her an A+ rating on her own :)

For food, I'm a pesciterian (only eat fish - no other meat) and they've got a great selection of veg friendly foods. We typically order the nacho platter w/ chili on the side and an extra cup of the olive/jalepeno topping or the Mediterranean platter which includes hummus, roasted red peppers, olives and chunks of feta cheese served with warm pita bread. Main courses I've tried are the veggie burger (made from scratch- a little mushy but a nice flavor), The Caprese flat bread pizza, the grilled cheese (hold the bacon) which is served with a really yummy fire roasted tomato 'jam' on sourdough bread and the fish and chips - oh when they've got the fish tacos on special those are not to be missed! Most of these dishes are served with some of the best fries around- crunchy and just the right amount of salt! I would order any of these items again...and I'm sure I will. YUM!

Now.. on to the most important part- THE BEER! The Lark has got an ingenious plan to keep us all coming back - their beer club. Fill your page in their 'beer book' after each pint you drink and you get your name on a plaque on the wall - I am SO close at this point and will continue to go back until my name is on that wall dammit! Actually, I'll be back many, many times after that I'm sure... We have found some of our all time favorite beers at The Lark. The aformentioned Celebrator, 21st Ammendment Back in Black and Fireside Chat, Delerium Noel, Captain Lawrence Extra Gold... man, the list could go on for days. Makes me wonder how at one point in my life I could actually drink Coors Light- and like it?!! They've also got a nice beer flight which allows you to pick 4 beers to try from the current tap offerings. We've been known to have 2-3 flights to try as many beers as possible (thank goodness one of group is pregnant -instant DD!)

Thank you for coming to town The Lark! You're just what a quiet little town in Long Island needed. See you soon! :)

I took my girlfriend here the other night and we both really loved it.

The atmosphere is great. It wasn't very crowded (we had our pick of tables). Its nicely lit and its heavily decorated in craft beer paraphernalia, like signs and neon lights. Its also not loud, which is something I like.

The service was good. The food was out quick, the beers were out quick and the waitstaff were very nice. The waitress was also very knowledgeable and gave my girlfriend good suggestions when asked.

The food was really good. We had the stout simmered chili, which was awesome. They also make a mean burger and amazing fries.

The beer selection is very good but their beer list on the website is out of date. I don't know how often they update that but its something to keep in mind. The beer is also served in appropriate glassware, which is good.

The beer is a little on the expensive side but that's to be expected at a craft beer place on Long Island. The food is a bit on the cheap side, which is really nice.

I will definitely be coming back here. Like I said, my girlfriend and I absolutely loved it here. Its a great place for beer nuts and those who love a nice, low key place that feels like a dive bar.

The Lark is a welcomed addition to East Northport, an area that has been a macro-brew haven for decades. The craft beer movement has hit my home town, and I couldn't be happier as it is my new bar of choice and meeting place for friends and family alike. The bar, and place overall, is neat with a great patio out back for the summer months. The food is pretty good, for bar food, and it has a nice selection of appetizers that go well with a night of drinking.

There are about 10 or 11 tap beers, 1 cask tap that seems to occasionally work, and somewhere around 100 bottles to choose from, including several bombers. The bomber selection is impressive, with a very expensive Swiss beer ($50 or $70) that I would like to try.

The staff are all very friendly, especially the manager/owner/head honcho, and some of the ladies that work there are quite attractive, which is a big plus for a beer bar. Some of the bartenders seem to really know their beer, and those that don't are more than happy to seek guidance or give out samples, which is great for exploring the tap selection on hand. The service has always been stellar at the Lark, and I commend a new place for having the customer service kinks worked out so quickly...well done.

I agree with "plaid75" 's review that some of the bartenders don't complete a full pour, have some kind of foaming issues, and seem to over pour and waste quite a bit of these nice craft beers. The BA mantra of "Respect Beer" is not followed, as wasting our precious brews does nothing but sadden us beer geeks. The most important point that "plaid75" made is that a beer bar should not serve foamy beer, and should understand that the pour and serving of the beer is just as important as the quality ingredients in the beers and clean keg lines that house these elixirs. Since most beers at the Lark are not cheap, as customers it is expected that the products which are served are up to the brewer's standards in terms of freshness, tastiness and of course presentation. This is a growing pain for a new establishment, and I am confident that the problem will be corrected over time as the staff gets acclimated with the task of serving great beers.

I'm very happy this place opened and seems to be flourishing. The start of the Beer Club is an excellent way to build a loyal following from beer enthusiasts, and I have to pick up the pace to get my plaque and join the wall of fame. This bar makes my life so much easier, because now I don't have to just hit the many specialty beer bars in NYC after work; the Lark is close to home and close to the train so I could get off on my way home from work to treat myself to a few great beers. Any beer lover within a 20 mile radius should come and check out the Lark, it's a great place that's off to a great start.

Located across from the firehouse in East Northport, my old stomping grounds.

The Lark is a beer oasis, in a town otherwise devoid of craft beer. The bar, which has been several incarnations over the years, is railroad style in design, with a long bar and restaurant seating. There is a very nice rear patio area as well.

There are about 10 or so draft beers featured, as well as a list of 40+ bottles, including bombers.

The problem I have however is that you never get a full pour. There are usually foaming issues on many of the taps, which is understandable. What is not understandable, or acceptable however, is that a still overly foamy beer is delivered to the customer. Now, the beers at The Lark are not cheap (around 7 bucks), so 2 or 3 ounces of foam loss is not something that makes me happy.

The food is pretty good, although has been lacking during my last few trips.

Overall a nice place both conceptually and decor wise, that serves up some nice brews. I only wish they would better train the bartenders on serving technique.

One long single room: a long bar plus seating for about 6 tables of 4 to 6 people. really nicely done, pub-like wood, but modern.

Not the most taps you've ever seen, but they are all winners. About 16 taps, one beer engine. A lot of strong NY beers, including Capt. Lawrence Smoked Porter (yum), Blue Point Rastafar Rye, Troeggs and Six Point. Delirum Tremens on tap with the special ceramic pink elephant tap set up with the glass rinser. The food is really very good for bar food, but the beer is the star. The lady serving staff can be quite attractive, which is fun too.
Dogfish Raison d entre. Legacy Euphoria. Good choices. This is a good hang out bar except for the really crowded hours on Saturday nights. They do waste one tap for Blue Moon, but it is a business.

The sliders are really good, and the fish and chips are good. Real chps, not fries. Giant hot dog creation is awesome bar food.

The men that work the bar are real beer guys, they can talk beer.
