Probably the best food/beer combo you can get n south Huntsville.
A massive variety of great beer at average prices.
Super knowledgable and friendly staff.
Most everyone can suggest a good beer if you don't know what you want.
The food speaks for itself.
They have trivia on Tuesday nights too.
I always like going here.

*** This review is actually for the Mellow Mushroom on the South end of town, but I didn't see it listed... ***
Went in around 10:30 on Saturday night... the place was pretty much dead. They do close at midnight and I guess I wouldn't expect anything on South-side to be busy that late... The bartender was super cute and we chatted about our mutual love of porters. Had the Beer Engineers "Peanut Butter Porter" and a Rogue "Mocha Porter" - both delicious! Also got an, as usual, amazing pizza (pesto, pepperoni, onions, mushroom, peppers, Italian sausage, and extra cheese!).
They didn't have Oscar Blue's "Ten Fidy" which I've been enjoying quite a bit recently...
Nor was the Old Black Bear "Barrel Aged Porter" keg tapped yet... I think I know four locations with kegs not tapped yet, and the one location that's actually gotten around to tapping it closes at 10:00... sigh... 21st century problems...
But I digress... of the two locations (Providence and South Side) I prefer the South Side location of Mellow Mushroom. The overall visual appeal is higher, the food seems better, and I feel like the service has been better - although I do sit at the bar more, and bartenders tend to give excellent service when business is slow.

The selection of beers is around 50 to 60 varieties with 24 taps. The availability of the beer varies. Servers tend to not know what is available and can bring you the wrong beer if you are ordering a seasonal or rotating tap.
Glasses are kept in a freezer, but you can generally request and get a home temperature glass.
The staff have limited knowledge of the beers styles, but they are learning very quickly.
This is not your typical Mellow Mushroom, which is a bummer. Most Mellow Mushroom locations are known for their beer selection.

The Huntsville Mellow Mushroom had a nice motif, using a space concept to match up with Huntsville's "Rocket City" moniker. A little cheesy, but pretty cool.
The service was good. Our server was prompt and attentive, and would make sure we got what we wanted. She even double checked a beer offering for us to make sure it was what we wanted.
The beer selection is good; probably the best I've ever seen at a pizzaria. They have several taps and a nice bottle list. They also carry local brews (Olde Towne, of which I had the coffee porter).
We ordered the buffalo chicken pizza sans onions. It was a good pizza. Nice crisp crust and very cheesy, and they didn't skimp on the toppings.

Part of the MM chain out of Atlanta. Nice clean facility sort of off the main highway in a "town center" type of development. Open, lively bar area with lots of windows. Tons of families with kids.
Known for it's great pizza. I've been here 3 times and the pizza has never let me down. All ingredients are fresh.
Decent selection of draft beers (about 40) with a couple of decent finds (Double Bastard, Delirium Tremens) among lots of macro.About 50 bottles with nothing out of the unusual.
Having been to Huntsville only a few times I would suspect that this is one of the better food/beer combos in the city.

Mellow Mushroom is new in this part of Huntsville. Walking in you are greeted by a hostess, seating to the left and the main dining to the right. the bar is tucked in the back right corner bu the main windows. It is a U shaped bar with a average craft selection(good for Alabama) I had Dom Oak Barrel Stout on both times and some Terrapin stuff as well. Service is young and slow, some times inaccurate with no beer knowledge of course. Food is exceptional!!! Good stop for a brew after work for sure.
