I thought this little cafe was awesome, and there's also a small to go market in the same building so it has a very relaxed atmosphere. But the building is pretty cool, very professional, clean, & modern interior. The staff was very helpful, even though I sat at the bar I had people check in with me at appropriate times & it never got to the annoying point. Although I was in the middle of the lunch rush the service was excellent all around. The food coming out looked delicious, and the steak tacos I had were gourmet if that's possible. With an entire page on the menu for meat eaters & for plant eaters I'm sure almost anybody can find something that they'll love. Food is a little expensive, but it is a semi nice place in palo alto so what can you expect? I was filthy from my construction job & most people were well dressed, but i saw some Pliny at the bar so I said screw it. I never once felt uncomfortable, it's a chill ass place to get some good food & decent beer. Here's the beer list as if 8/19/11:

On tap:
Drakes ipa & Denoggenizer
Palo Alto brewing Hoppy Ending pale & coconut porter
Anchor steam
Scrimshaw pilsner

Bottles:
Pliny
Guinness
SNPA
Racer 5
Drakes Hefe
Eel River porter, amber ale, & ipa
Lagunitas ipa

We found this place by using the Beer Advocate search as we traveled from SFO to Monterey and needed a snack. We were too late for food as the Kitchen had just closed, so we settled in with a pair of drinks. The beverage lists only local wines and beers. The IPA and Coconut Porter were tasty. Wishing we could have been able to have some accompanying food. There was a moderately subdued on a Thursday night. The porter was from the Palo Alto Brewery. The IPA was from Drake's. We'd go back if we were ever in the area.
