Location is an issue, as it's right on frat row at the U of M. Surprisingly, however, this isn't a typical college bar. Sure, it gets busy with students on weekend nights (and Wednesdays - more on that later) but during the day it's usually very quiet.
Atmosphere is pretty good. A small, dark bar with tons of TV's and an area that is set aside for live music. In the summer, there is a fire pit with a never dying flame outside with chairs around it.
Quality is pretty good also, all around. Food, service, atmosphere all have good quality.
Service has never been a problem for me. The servers are friendly and always withing earshot. Bartenders are knowledgable and friendly.
The beer selection is what sets this place apart from other college bars. They always have Surly, Bell's, Summit and much much more. Some nights they have Surly can's for cheap ($3 if I remember).
Food is decent, but nothing special. They serve typical bar food, pizza, burgers, ribs (not so typical), and others. It's good, but nothing to specifically come for.
Value is very reasonable. The reason I started coming to this bar in the first place is their Wednesday night special. You buy a mug (one time $5 payment) and $10 for unlimited PBR, Long Islands, Pizza and Ribs from 9:00 to midnight. It's a great deal and a great time when surrounded by friends. The beer is flowing and the pizza is never ending. It's a cheap college kids dream...eat and get drunk for $10.
