Pours nto an imperial nonic a dull burnt orange color with a half finger head that leaves no lacing as it settles pretty quickly.Citrusy aromas with alot of orange oils present,a bit of caramel toast thrown in.Citric and even a tinge of booze for a smaller beer on the palate along with caramel and a bready base, not bitter in any way.A fruit forward IPA with a hefty doughy malt base, not bad.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.

Pours a murky honey orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty but has a slightly better hop presence in the aroma.

Poured from a 16.oz can in to a .5L glass.

Appearance: A beautiful copper hue, with brilliant clarity until the dregs came out...at which point it was a cloudy mess. Dense, 2-finger head was persistent throughout. 3.75/5

Smell: Wonderful C-hop aroma! Pine and citrus dominate. Has just a subtle hint of sulfur that is a little distracting, but tolerable. 3.5/5

Taste: Malt character is almost non-existent. Moderate hop flavor, and firm hop bitterness dominate. Yes, I understand that this is an IPA, but even IPA's should have some semblance of balance - albeit towards the hops. Unfortunately, the sulfur aroma also interferes with the perception of flavor. I tried exhaling through my nose while sipping, but it doesn't seem to help. 3.25/5

Mouthfeel: Perfect level of carbonation, but the beer feels thin and watery. Finish is moderately astringent - heightened by the lack of malt character. 3/5

Overall: This beer has the foundation to be a beautiful IPA. I have tremendous respect for the brewers not trying to imperialize a normal IPA (at 5.9%, it would be a wonderful, session IPA). Unfortunately, there are some issues in production that prevent this beer from being rated 'outstanding'. For brewers that are canning their product, and either can-conditioning or simply fining the beer, PLEASE indicate these facts somewhere on the can (in addition to some date coding if possible). I apologize for the soapboxing. 3.25/5

Poured from 16oz tall can into a pint glass.

Appearance: murky orange hue with a strong effervescence and a fair number of chunks floating around. Head poured a thick finger of frothy ivory foam and stuck around for a good long time with a fair amount clinging to the glass. Nice.

Smell: very fruity hop aroma with a rich malt underneath. There are notes of tangerine, pears and grapefruit in there. On the sweet side, but I rather like it.

Taste: grapefruity and quite bitter right up front, then mellowing out to the sweeter malt and more of that tangerine character. The finish has plenty of bitterness as well, but it is smooth and not raspy. Quite good.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a huge creaminess, especially for the style. Love it.

Overall: this is a darn good IPA, especially with respect to its texture. I could drink quite a lot of it.

Big light tan head quickly falls and settles into a nice big lacing above a thick caramel straw colored beer.

Sweet caramel grain malts under a citrus and pine hops make for a very nice aroma.

Pine, citrus, and grassy hops taste with some of the sweet caramel malts coming through as well.

A dryish aftertaste with some sweet grains and light hops attributes sticking around with this medium bodied beer.

A pretty balanced IPA with some of the malt characteristics coming through but not overwhelming any of the citrusy hops that this beer harbors.
