Notes / Commercial Description:
Our take on a Smoked Porter, 7 Seas-style. For this special holiday brew we combine malts from Germany, Britain, Canada and the US to create a globally inspired beer based on the principles of love and good humanity towards our neighbors. Santa's Smokin' ale displays a rich depth of malt accented by a subtle smoky note. Hopped with Centennial, Glacier, and Willamettes, a delicate bitterness brings the bold malt and warming alcohol into balance. Pair Santa's Smokin' ale with a variety of rich holiday foods, cheers!

On draught at The Swiss, Smokin' Santa is dark ruddy brown with a small tan head that leaves scattered lace.

Smell is sweet malt, a little smoke, a little ethanol, a bit grapish.

Taste is similar, though not really sweet, more of a nice scotch style ale, very faint hint of smoke, some chocolate notes. Tasty, smooth, probably the best 7 Seas I've had.

Mouthfeel is dry, medium bodied.

Drinkability is pretty good. Perhaps a touch hot, but overall satisfying, nice depth of malty flavor, with no real phenols, which I often find overwhelm most winter warmers.
