Served in a Gale Sayers shaker pint glass.

Thanks to BarryMFBurton for this can!

Nothing screams pale ale like the Egyptian god of the dead... Regardless, this stuff pours a clear brass topped by over a finger of white foam. The nose comprises grapefruit zest, orange zest, light pineapple, honey, and light pine. The taste holds notes of grapefruit peel, pine needles, light balsa, light caramel, very light biscuit, and orange peel. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a smooth, lightly creamy feel. Overall, a highly enjoyable brew, fit for the pharaohs (...sorry 'bout that one, it just kinda slipped out...).

I’ve had a few different Sun Kings and this one is probably the best. Has a decent balance and is some what refreshing. Decent balance between malt and hop profile. Seems to clearly be trying to steal the idea of another Indiana beer. Its drinkable but for your money there's better choices.

From 64oz growler to Hess imperial pint glass on 1/25/12
*From notes

-- Thanks for the fill, John --

A: Clean 24k gold. A standard pour yields a huge three finger white and fluffy head. Really nice retention and lacing.

S: Grains from top to bottom. Not a real big hop presence. Disspointing to say the least.

T: Quite similar: malt everywhere. Granted this is an APA, but I really feel the lack of balance here makes the beer...dare I say boring? There is a small amount of hops, which arrive with a metallic quality on the mid. The finish is biscuity and dry.

M: Pretty nice texture. We're not setting the world on fire with this one, but it's decent none the less.

O: I had high hops for Sun King's Osiris, but in the end it let me down. It's just not the APA it'd been built up to be, and drank a bit like a stale lager. Not a bad beer, just a bit forgettable and blasé.

A: nice golden amber pour with about a half finger of head. Nice lacing.

S: Not overly hoppy, but a good.

T: Nice. great flavor. Not too overly hoppy...just right. I get some citrus with a nice caramel finish.

M: Nice and sharp on the tongue. Nice dry finish.

O: Great beer from a relatively new brewery. Very easy drinking. I wish I had couple more, but I already drank them!

Pours a light amber with a small head in my DFH sniffer. Smell is like a fresh bowl of fruit. Taste is very crisp and light. Somewhat like an orange sherbert ice cream cone dipped in pineapple juice. Lacing is sticky. This is the best, lightest APA I have ever had. I could drink this like it is going out of style. Three Floyds does the best APA's, but this one is better if you are looking for a beer with an easy, light drinkablity, at a lower ABV.

From can to nonic pint...

A: Pours a slightly cloudy, light orange hue. About two fingers of frothy eggshell white head. Head lingers for a good while, then gently recedes to a quarter finger. Lots and lots of lacing on this one, sticky and inviting. This was served at a pretty cold temperature in the fridge, but even I didn't expect there to be so many particles in the brew. Looks like the asteroid belt from Empire Strikes Back in there. I enjoy my beer debris-free, thank you very much. But whatever. It's probably my fault for chilling it down too much in the fridge.

S: Lots of bready malt and some nice citrus hops. Bitter pine resin on the finish. Light, crisp, inviting.

T: Lots of grain and malt, along with a little bit of orange creamsickle and grapefruit zest on the mid and back palate. Just a dash of bittering, piny hops on the finish with a kiss of orange and some lightly toasted grains. A significant malt presence and a refined hop profile make this one quite memorable.

M: Balanced. A true APA with an incredibly light finish and a toasted biscuit flavor to boot. This one was made with love.

O: Sun King Osiris is a fantastic APA, one of the best I've had. It is very light and refreshing, yet offers up just enough complexity and hop presence to please the hardcore nerd. For once we get an APA that's not just an IPA hiding in sheep's clothing. Osiris drinks fantastic and would absolutely be a staple in my fridge were it available in my neck of the woods. Great work here.

Received in trade from phisigben, thanks for the opportunity.
Pours just shy of clear with a golden amber color and a creamy white head that never gets too large or distant. Nice grapefruit and apricot aroma mixed with a hint of pine and hints of bready malt somewhere in the mix. Taste is a nice mix of bready biscuity malt with plenty of earthy pine and citrus hop flavor to keep me interested. Medium to light body with a fairly dry finish, moderate level of carbonation and a resinous creamy watery mouthfeel. Nice pale ale with huge amounts of hop aroma. I wouldn't mind a touch more body here, but I could also see myself cutting the lawn with one of these too.

Poured from a can a bright clear gold color with a single finger of wet, bubbly head. Light lacing on sides of glass.

Aroma of fresh grass, orange and grapefruit. Light touch of maltiness.

Taste of grapefruit, orange, a bit of spicy herbs and grainy malts. Finishes clean with a mild bitterness.

Medium bodied and crisp with a sharper carbonation.

A real nice little Pale Ale from Sun King. I'll be sure to grab more on my next trip thru Indiana.
