Very good beer when eating out. It is also decent in the can - Sun King does not do bottles from what I can tell, other than a growler. I've enjoyed Wee Mac at several different locations and they all tapped it properly and the taste was consistent. Very enjoyable dinner beer. Goes well with pizza and grilled tenderloin are my two favorites.

Pint can with a lot of angles goin on...
Pours a dark brown with reddish hues. Big off white head, popping loudly. Very little lacing.
Smells of dusty attic and sweet neutral grains.
Flavor starts watery, with a bit of sweetness. Toffee and grainy husks, corn on the cob and the littlest bits of caramel. An ester and Yeast filled finish.
Very light body, highly drinkable.
I'd put this more in the realm of an esb than a Scottish ale. Watery, with little caramel flavor and no other qualities of a good Scottish style beer. If it was an esb I'd give it a higher grade. Not what I was expecting and disappointing for a brewery I really like.

Dark coppery amber color with a tall foam after each pour in the Bellevue bulb. Quite sudsy in the mouth, though it's kind of a club soda mouthfeel along with that faintly sourish tang that seems to go with big carbonation in lower ABV beers. Smells like beer, is as imaginative as I can get here.
Quite thin and tangy. Slight fruit flavor, like orange peel with a little raisin. Some caramel and roasted malt. Maybe there is a whiff of peat. At the end there is that dirty bitter taste that makes me think of cheap Euro lagers. It's a lot like a a thin Brown Ale.
This starts out pleasantly enough, but that metallic, insistent bitterness as me heading toward the sink. From the 16 oz can purchased at Grapevine Liquors in Denver.
