I really love this beer, my only issue is that even with my increased olfactory acuity, the great flavors the beer has just don't come through your nose. I like the look of the beer, it has a nice warm taste and feel to it, it just doesn't smell like it tastes to me. Sun King offers a really nice line of beers though.

Good Scottish ale. Not the best, but definitely not bad.

Look: It pours brown with red hues to it. It has a tan head with moderate head retention.
Smell: It has toffee aromas with a bit of a sugary presence. There is a bit of butter in the background.
Taste: It has toffee like flavors with some caramel. Sweetness is noticeable. It has some cherry notes in support.
Feel: It has a medium body with a somewhat sweet finish.
Overall, the beer is sweet from start to finish with good malt flavors and a little bit of esters in support.

Bought Wee Mac as part of my homework for the BA Thread this weekend on Scots and Winter Warmers.
Wee Mac has average Looks; its foam fades fast on an amber-red body, but no lace. Smells are mostly the sweet malt slightly roasted. Sweet Tastes are balanced with hops for the American palate; but the sweetness lacks complexity (probably from a weak yeast) and Wee Mac finishes oddly semi-dry. I like Scots because they offer richly-blended malts in a lower-ABV style. Wee Mac has some of the style's caramel/nutty character, but could be richer. Lightly mouthed, yet bubbly. Probably good enough to pair with fried foods in a bar.
Sun King is twelve years old and claims (from their website) to be Indiana's second largest crafter. But this is only my second beer from them, so they don't distribute much in Illinois that I seem to see. But Sun King also has six pubs, which is unusual focus because they are labor-intensive. But, they solve that by each pub having restaurants as partners. Sun King also has diversified into spirits to complement their diverse beer lineup. And they are good guys per their DEI Statement on their website. So, they have grown to Indiana's #2 and Wee Mac was only $2. So for all that, I give some pretty good Overall Hugs.

Had Wee Mac at Nick’s English Hut, Bloomington, Indiana, on draft into pint mason jar, and later poured from pint can, bottom stamped "BEST BY 11/9/21," into Teku tulip.
Pours apparently deep, opaque brown, but deep rusty red or ruby amber with clarity when backlit, and 1-finger very light-tan head, which dissipates to a persistent ring and partial film, leaving a little sketchy lace. Aroma of perhaps hazelnut off pour, but if so then the mild aromas are soon all caramel and sweet malts. Begins dry, crisp yet malty, and then a bit of sweetness and a bit of fruit join the growing caramel and mild cocoa malts, before a moderately malty and smooth but still crisp finish.
A rather mild, peatless Scottish ale, especially for the name, but a not uninteresting crisp and flavorful brown ale.
