Pours from the pint can a clean, clear amber, with substantial head. Thick 2-finger lace. Lovely!

Nose is malty grains, even earthy. Nice.

Flavor is malty and sweet up front, with a slowly-developing citrus hops accent toward the finish. Totally solid, but I still prefer their Osiris Pale Ale.

Growler picked up at the Brewery. Served in a Pint glass.

A: Very small amount of patchy foam fades quickly. A nice looking golden amber that's crystal clear. Lacing is decent.

S: Malts are upfront with some sweetness. Some slight bread and graininess. Also a little spice.

T: Caramel malts and toasted grains. Make that a lot of malts, but with very little hops. Sweetness comes in on the finish along with some more grains and some yeast.

M: Medium bodied that feels pretty robust. Carbonation is a little low, but rolls on the tongue nicely.

D: At 5.5%, this could be easily sessioned if you desired. I had no problem drinking a pint, but really didn't yearn to drink another.

Not one of Sun Kings best offerings, but still pretty true to the style. The malt profile completely dominated the Noble hops. Perhaps with an addition of more hops, this beer could really stand out.

Light rusty colored clear body with white head.

Smells toasty with a hint of grass and walnut.

Taste is toasted grain and a nice slight bitterness from noble hops. There's a slight nutty aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is medium and crisp. Great carbonation level.

A solid Oktoberfest.

16 ounce can, 13259 is stamped on the bottom of the can. Not sure if that's the best by or the canned on Julian Date (September 15, 2013). Served in a mug, the beer pours a clear amber color with about a half inch off-white head. Head retention is good, and there's a decent amount of lacing. The brew smells like toasted and caramel malt, nuts, and some grassy hops. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also the addition of some bready/grainy malt. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit slick, smooth and easy to drink. I liked this brew, but at $13.49 a 4-pack, it's better to buy a single of this brew if you want to try it.

Looks just as it should sitting in the glass deep murky amber with a off white head that stands at about an inch. The head quickly fades leaving no ice and just a skim on the edges. Nose is of sweet malt and dirty leaves with just enough of that German style malt strain to give it that nice soft feel of funk. This one is very sweet right off the bat with first sip. The sweetness mellows out and yields to a rustic body that is pillowy in feel. A bit of dryness and appropriate amount of stinky feel. Overall a very nice representation of the style and one of the better American versions I have found.

16 oz can! Hazy copper color, with a white head. Head disappears rather quickly, leaving a few spots.

Toasty caramel malt leads the nose. Earthy hops, with just a faint fruity note.

A nice malt character here. Some sweetness, but mainly a nice toasty, bread-like malt. Pretty clean. Earthy hops provide some good balance.

Light to medium body, with a nice, lively carbonation. Pretty nice, but the price was a bit steep for the 4 pack for me.

A-Clear amber, some carbonation, two finger head.

S-Caramel malt, bread and butter, toast some slight earthy notes.

T-Sweet and malty, caramel, earthy some pine, good balance and some slight bitterness.

M-Medium bodied, slight carbonation and crisp.

O-Easily the best Oktoberfest beer I've had.

While this was just released yesterday in cans, their first seasonal canning, this review is from a growler filled earlier today.

It pours a nice deep copper in color with a one finger cream colored head. It smells of Munich malts, perhaps some crystal malt, and has an interesting bubblegum aspect. It also has an every so light spicy hop component. I'm a fan. The flavors are very clean, as is the finish. You get the nice Munich malts with a light hop bitterness and a touch of bubblegum. It's a little sweeter than most Oktoberfests but that isn't a bad thing at all. This one has more flavor than every Oktoberfest I can think of, minus maybe Great Lakes'. It drinks very smoothly and is ultimately fresh. Overall this is a fine specimen. Well done Sun King.
