poured cold from a 2 week old growler, near black to a surly darkness 10oz snifter with a foamy, finger and a half, tan head
aroma of cocoa, coffee and graham crackers(?)
semi sweet chocolate, creamy espresso roast, and a week bit of smoke.
light bodied, medium carbonation, smooth and creamy, semi-sweet.
overall: good, not great. a porter i'll grab once or twice when it's available.

Poured a very nice deep dark brown near black with some nice initial head and a bit of nice lacing as well. Very nice scent, a huge roastiness with coffee tones and a bit of sweetness coming through, as from a lightly creamed coffee. Excellent flavors, with a great roasted grain profile, nice coffee tones, a hint of chocolate, and a great hit of cream sweetness at the end; it all merges together very well. Goes down fine, with just a bit of roughness; not the easiest drinking porter, but very tasty nonetheless.

Appearance: Pours an iced coffee brown color capped by a very modest head; virtually no lacing
Smell: Graham cracker and a hint of milk chocolate
Taste: Graham cracker, up front, with building sweetness; the milk chocolate enters in middle but does not make much of a statement; sweet in the finish, as well, and slightly grainy
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: I can't help but think this may have not been what the brewer intended as I was expecting something more full bodied and milk chocolatey
Thanks, fredmugs, for the opportunity

O-solid overall beer. Slight over carbination, but nothing to really cry about

Poured from a growler.
Poured dark brown color with an little light brown head.
Not much aroma but hints of chocolate and toasted malt.
Medium to full body with a very smooth texture and a lot of carbonation to the point where it was extremely over carbonated.
Had an acidic bite to it from the carbonation but was able to find some chocolate flavor.
Unfortunately, this was extremely over carbonated. Based on the other reviews here, it sounds like I must have gotten a bad batch. But since I did, I have to rate on what I actually got. Since I had to dump the whole growler down the drain, this is getting a bad review. Hopefully next time I'm in Indy I can try it again and update my review to reflect a better score.

Picked up a growler from Sun King yesterday.
Appearance: very dark brown, near black. A nice tan head.
Smell: roasted coffee with a very slight sweet hint.
Taste: Not your average porter taste. Coffee, bit of chocolate. And roasted coffee comes through towards end. Carbonation is above average for a porter, but it adds something different. And in a good way.
Mouthfeel: a little light for me. Then again my last beer was a Dark Lord a couple days ago.
Overall: very nice porter. Seems complex for some reason. But then again a bit light due to carbonation. I like it and will look forward to polishing off the growler now!
