Impression from a 12 fl oz can purchased at a Colorado beer store as part of a sixer for $9.49 USD.
"Made with Citra and Simcoe hops." "Session pale ale."
APPEARANCE: Frothy white head. Dull clear pale copper body. ~5-7 minute head retention.
AROMA: Faint onion. Citrus rind. Floral hop aromatics. Pale malts. Herb.
Aromatic intensity is average. Suggests a subdued reticent pale ale with inadequate hop pungency. Fails to showcase Citra well to any extent.
TASTE & TEXTURE: Smooth. Wet. Medium-bodied. Coating. Overcarbonated. Unrefreshing. Not oily, gushed, hot, boozy, astringent, harsh, rough, or scratchy.
Pale malt backbone is as present as the hops are. Grass, herbal hops, floral hop character, faint onion. No citrus or passionfruit from the Citra. Not very fruity at all. Citra is wasted on this pale ale.
Lacks sufficient hop pungency. Shallow and simple, with a reticent flavour profile. Below average flavour duration. Subdued flavour intensity.
Not well-balanced. Build is okay at best for a pale ale.
No off-flavours. No booziness. No overt yeasty notes.
OVERALL: A shrug of a pale ale from Fremont. Forgettable fare that doesn't stand out in the oversaturated overcrowded pale ale category. I'd take a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale over this any day of the week, and that beer is both more widely distributed and more affordable. Maybe I got an older can, but while I'll finish the sixer, I can't see myself consciously buying this underwhelming brew again. Not on par with Fremont's best work by any stretch.

2017.08.14 2nd impression from another can:
Clear yellow-copper body of average vibrance. White head.
Aroma is floral. I get lime and vague tropical fruit...maybe candied mango. Pale malts. Subdued cotton candy phenol. I'm not getting any pungent citrus. Not resinous, oily, juicy, or piney. Average aromatic intensity.
Taste is a bit off-kilter balance wise, with ill enough hop presence/pungency. Too malty for a pale ale, lacking the deep hop flavour fans of the style buy it for.
Texture is decent but not dialed in, failing to harmonize with the taste or elevate the beer. Well-carbonated, smooth, wet, medium-bodied, a bit coating. Not chewy, dragging, rough, scratchy, or astringent. Not oily or juicy. Could feel fresher, softer, lighter, more fragile, and more refreshing.
Overall, it's a drinkable but forgettable pale ale that just doesn't bring the hop flavour it needs to. Not a beer I'd buy another sixer of, even over widely distributed expressions of the style like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. In terms of the Pacific Northwest market, I'd take any pale ale from Deschutes over this.
