The first beer from a brand new brewery, this was served in a straight pint glass. The beer poured a slightly cloudy orangeish-yellow. There was about an inch of clean white head that dissipated quickly, leaving a moderate amount of lacing.

The aroma was a pleasant dose of hops, mostly citrus notes, with no malt sweetness on the nose. The flavors followed along the path carved by the scent, clean, sharp hop flavors dominate, with little malt foundation to build on.

The body was typical for the style as was the drinkability. This is a nice Pale, almost exactly average for the style, give it a shot if you see it. Since this brewery is just getting started, I'll try this again in a few months and amend my review as needed.

Canned: earlier

Good toasted corn color with a solid quilt of light creamy foam leaving behind some ropes of lace. Herbal hops with a tea like character on the nose and some english crystal malts remind me of an old ale. There is also a small amount of detergent in the nose for me along some grass. Flavor is mostly dry tea leaves and some sweet malts alongside a bit of bitterness. I think with a bit of CaraPils, this one would actually make a really nice ESB, but it's not doing it as an APA for me. Medium bodied with slightly slick feel. Overall drinkable, but think their Summer version should be the headliner.

22oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

A: Medium yellow with hints of amber. There is a light haze to it. One finger white head with great retention and good lacing.

S: Light aroma. Nice blend of floral, citrus, and light piney hops. Some bready malts with a touch of caramel.

T: Very grainy upfront with a slight caramel note. Light floral hops come in with a touch of citrus. Finishes grassy and earthy with lots more grain.

M: Light to medium body. Medium carbonation. Light creaminess.

O: Very disappointed in this beer. Fremont brews 3 beers that are easily my favorite locals by far. This is a drinkable beer but just average.

Clear yellow in the Pilsner glass. Attractive foamy head. Plenty of spritiness in the mouth. Light flowery aroma and a watery body. Faint crackery malt flavors with more herbal hoppiness. Bitterness strikes suddenly after some sipping. It is slightly resiny and more like oversteeped green tea, though not that bad. A little malty sweetness comes back with a touch of fruitiness.

Overall this is a pretty pale Pale Ale, but it has a nice fragrant light flavor. The bitterness takes over the finish in a less than appealing way. From the 22 oz bottle purchased from The Market at Anacortes.

05-10-2014 Update: From the 12 oz can. I was surprised how delightfully fragrant this is. I would rate it higher this time. This would be the beer to have in handy cans when you want a crisp, aromatic, light beer.

Medium sized biscuity and slightly off white head slowly dies into a nice lacing above a clear honey golden colored beer.

A light aroma consisting mostly of citrus and pine aroma hops with a little bit of lightly roasted caramel malts sneaking in.

A light sweet taste mixes with some of the light citrus and pine hops taste with some added very light yeast aspects sneaking along.

An almost dryish aftertaste with some of the sweet malt tastes hanging around with this medium bodied beer.

This beers taste is a light on the lighter side, I kind of wish it had more of these same tastes present but in abundance.

Pours a nice orange with tons of clarity, a wisp of head and wee bit o' lacing.

The nose is very floral with citrus notes (think Cuties) and some sweet Hawaiian bread toward the end.

First taste is all sweet, grainy malt up front with citrusy hops rounding out the sip, mouth feel is pleasant and carbonation is light. Malt becomes intensely aromatic as the beer warms and the hops pretty much ride in the back no matter what temp. Highly drinkable ale, perfect for warm BBQs where an oily IPA or lager isn't your ticket.
