Appearance: Pours an amber verging on golden with two fingers of foam capping the liquid; squiggles of lacing line the glass

Smell: Pine verging on cannabis

Taste: A hint of caramel malt is all there is and the rest is the hops, with the pine building powerfully in the middle; very hemp-like, after the swallow, with a medicinal aspirin finish

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation

Overall: I am not a fan of IPAs that bring on the aspirin bitterness so I have marked this one down a bit; still a decent beer but not top flight for me

Thanks, mabermud, for the opportunity

The beer pours a golden amber color with good head retention and lacing. On the nose, this DIPA is quite attractive, as I get considerable tangerine, tropical fruit and light pine, with considerable orange and grapefruit citrus as well. The flavor profile replicates the nose in this well crafted DIPA, though I did pick up some heat on the finish that was a bit off putting. The tropical fruit mid palate dries out very nicely on the long and bitter finish, and while a bit boozy, this medium bodied DIPA is otherwise quite drinkable. This beer delivers a lot of flavor, and there's definitely a lot to like in this well made DIPA from the folks at Fremont. Another very solid effort from these guys.

(had this beer on cask at the Washington cask festival, and my recollection it was every bit as good as the bottled version, and a touch less boozy as well).
