Sister is the most imperious of our Imperial Series and is inspired by our desire to thank Sisters everywhere. Without our Sisters, we would have never learned the finer points of emotional warfare, or the art of huffing and puffing, or snide remarking, how long to carry a grudge, or the true meaning of loyalty when one of us is hurt. This Sister is fittingly bitter and a little sweet but she will always be there for you…Because Sisters Matter. “Never Let An Angry Sister Comb Your Hair.” – VWP

PKGD03/30/20. This is really good. Brought me back to the days of explosively fresh West Coast DIPAs. Sneaky but it’s a heavy hitter. Strong aromas of dank resinous hops. Flavor and feel are saturated with earthy fruity hop deliciousness. Super smooth and easy drinking with a hint of sweetness. If I were a WA local I’d buy this regularly.

Fremont's Rusty Nail is a dynamite beer. I was thinking since they do that beer so well, I wonder how the other beer fair. The Sister is a DIPA, I am looking forward to consuming this beer. This beer is fresh, less than two weeks old. The beer is 46 degrees and served in a tulip glass. The pour of the beer produced a monster three finger head with excellent retention. The creamy airy head is off white in color. The head did leave lacing on the glass. The color of the beer is a pale straw with a touch of amber hues. The clarity of the beer is clear. Overall, the appearance of the head is excellent.
The initial aromas in the beer are pine, resin, bread, and grapefruit. Nosing further in the beer, I get earthy, dank, oranges, crackers, toasted malts, a hint of caramel, pineapple, floral, and herbal.
The initial taste of the beer orange, grapefruit, resin, bread, and crackers. Next, I taste pineapple, mangos, floral esters, herbal, malty sweetness, a hint of caramel, toasted malts, and pine.
The mouthfeel of the beer is astringent and clean.
The body of the beer is medium-plus, low carbonation, and fuller finish.
Honestly, this beer is disappointing. If I was told this was an IPA, I would have believed it. Since this beer is is DIPA, I think it does not quite measure up. Yes, the beer has excellent hop flavors and balanced yeast and malts. However, the beer needs a strong hop presence. The beer is good but not excellent. I did enjoy drinking it, wanted more hops.

Sweet resin and peachy tropical fruit with plenty of bitterness to back it all up. Love finding a fresh batch of this stuff.
Look: Deep gold with a finger or two of foam
Smell: Tank tropical hops
Taste: Sweet resin up front with a really nice tropical and peach note
Feel: Medium but just right. No too sweet.
Overall: Wonderful when you can find it fresh.
