Pours a nice, clear orange color with a one finger head on top, nice retention and lacing all around.

S: Wow, amazingly fruity. Tons of oranges and grapefruit, very juicy. Not much in terms of malt in the aroma. Extremely inviting.

T: More citrus fruit up front, orange, grapefruit, a little pineapple and pine on the finish. Slightly sweet malt mixed in as well, but the fresh hops dominate the flavor profile.

M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Easy drinking, slightly bitter finish.

O: Extremely impressed, a very good APA, right up there with the best of them. If only it was made year round!

On tap at Fremont Brewing in Seattle, WA. October 18th, 2011.

A: The beer pours a pale orange color with a very minimal haze. There is a one-finger head of off white foam that sticks around. The lacing is similar and does not dissipate.

S: This has a fantastic citrus hop aroma with hints of grapefruit, apricot nectar and mango. There is a hint of caramel malt, but the Citra hops in this beer are wonderfully fragrant and really dominate here.

T: The initial taste is one of caramel malt, but it quickly melds into a strong bitter hop note. Touches of pine, citrus, lemongrass are present.

M: The beer has a medium body with average carbonation. The mouth feel is dry yet oily.

O: Fremont knocked it out of the park with this one. They're not allowing growler fills of this at the brewery, so I'll need to track down some bombers.

22oz bomber from the brewery

appearance: served in my tyranena mini-nonic, clear-ish orange-amber body, creamy white head with a light filmy retention

smell: lovely hop bouquet - tangerine, bright grapefruit, lots and lots of citrus

taste: a really nice freshly hopped IPA - had this on tap at the brewery and loved it. I think its funny that it was a $5 draft but bombers are $3.75. Lots of bright fresh citrus - tangerine, clementine, pink grapefruit. Great stuff

mouthfeel: light and fresh, low bitterness

overall: one of the best fresh hopped IPA's on the market

Big thanks to my in-laws for thinking of me when they saw this "fresh hop" beer in their supermarket and surprising me with two bottles!! They have some fine taste in beer picking this one.

Appearance. Pours a fairly clear gold-amber with a half-finger of white head.

Smell. Fresh oranges and grapefruit rinds, a little toasted light grains and some sweet mango. Yum!!

Taste. Pineapple, oranges, grapefruit rinds, mango and some toasted caramel malts.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with medium, very smooth carbonation.

Overall. Just an awesome fresh-hop pale with lots of tropical and citrus fruits. Loved it.

Stopped into Full Throttle Bottles just to pick this up on my way back from Seattle.

Poured into a standard pint glass from a bomber. Stunningly clear and bright. Gold in color with a brilliant white head.

Smell of tropical fruits, grapefruit tiny bit of dank exactly what I expect from a Citra and Simcoe beer. Smell is huge! No skill required at picking out the aromas.

Taste is exactly like the nose with a delicate balance of sweet malts.

Mouthfeel is just shy of crisp.

Overall, this is perfect. Not a single bad thing to say about this beer. Fremont has absolutely been nailing it lately and this shows their talent. To take fresh hops within 24 hours of being picked and turn out a beer this perfect takes skill.

Well done Fremont!

Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a clear orange amber with a thin fine white head and light lacing. Interesting aroma of stone fruits, citrus hops and sweet malt, intense apricot/peach fruit. Flavor is citrus hops and apricot melding into sweet malt with a citrus and pine hop finish. Very pleasant. Not that hop forward, but the hops assert themselves nicely in the finish. Medium bodied with good carbonation. A very nice and somewhat different IPA.

Poured from a bottle into a standard pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy amber with a golden hue. There is a finger of off white head and decent retention.

Smell: Some bready malt but the star here is the citrus peel hops. There are some fruity apricot like notes as well.

Taste: Bitter citrus peel hops hit the tongue pretty hard, but there is plenty of malt to back them up. The apricot notes from the smell are present. The finish is bitter.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with mild, tingly carbonation and a slightly dry finish.

Overall: I was very pleasantly surprised by this one. I hadn't heard of it before, but it was a great fresh hop IPA.

A: Clear orange with 2 finger head. Lots of lacing.

S: Hops hops hops. Grapefruit, orange zest, citrous.

T: ahhh.... taste isn't quite up there the aroma but it's quite good. Starts off awesome - grapefruit, citrous, slight pine bitterness at the end. Very very clean and refreshing. I do get a little bit of malt, but not much. The closest beer I can compare to is Zombie Dust (although ZD is less bitter than this).

M: Good amount of carbonation, medium body.

O: Nice. Not top 100 nice, but it's really quite good. Quite a deal also at $3.99 a bomber - wish they can this and make it avaiable all year around.

A: Pours a dark orange body. Mostly translucent with a bit of cloudiness. Yields a thick, dense, pillowy, bright white head that hangs around seemingly forever. Leaves incredible lacing. It doesn't get much better than this from an appearance standpoint.

S: Citra hops jump out of the bottle before even poured. Mango and tangerine dance around in the glass, backed with some pine and resinous hops.

T: Sweet exotic fruits dominate the upfront taste, which quickly transforms into a bitter, piney hop explosion. The finish is crisp and clean with lingering resin and tangerines.

M: Medium body. Crisp. Clean. Refreshing. Moderately high carbonation. Sticky and Prickly dryness.

O: This came to my doorstep with a ton of hype from a buddy that is local to Fremont, so I must admit that I was very excited going into this one. Boy, did this one deliver and actually exceeded the hype train that he was driving. A ton of juicy sweet character, but is not short on hop notes and complexity either. I wish I had more than just the two bottles. Big thanks Anthony!
