I visited the Fremont taproom for the first time on Saturday and I was quite pleased with the experience. They had at least a dozen beers on tap, with tasters clocking in at a very reasonable $1. It's a popular place, with lots of folks with kids and babies (frankly, I'd never seen so many babies in a taproom before), so be prepared for a bit of a family atmosphere. The décor is quite pleasing, with a warm, welcoming feel inside and tons of seating outside. The tables inside are large and communal, so socialization is encouraged.

Service was reasonable, especially for a belly-up-to-the-bar kind of place. They were relatively busy, so the two people on staff had their hands full. As expected, all the beer was delicious. I absolutely need to be returning here; a great place to visit.

I visited on the grand opening of the new side of their tasting room. A large crowd was on hand, and so not representative of a "typical" experience at the brewery. The "old" side had an industrial feel, while the "new" side was more upscale looking. Plenty of taps on both sides. I look forward to checking it out another time, and getting a better feel for the place.

I was here in 2013 with my sis after a huge dinner at Jack's. The beer here is fantastic. I am partial to IPAs and Fremont's are among the tastiest I have had. There were 8 beers..universale pale ale, interurban ipa, wandering wheat, summer ale, a winter ale, a 100% brett beer from the Ferm Lab, a Seattle beer week barleywine, and 1 guest tap Bale Breaker Bubba's brew. There was also a Randall version of Interurban IPA.

Located in what looks like a huge garage, the ceilings are high and the floor is concrete. There are picnic tables outside and inside, plus a few cool booth seats featuring keg tables brightly painted.

There is one counter and 1 line. It is a busy place with a lot of people coming and going but the high energy staff were friendly. You choose from pints or growlers, but not every beer is available in a growler, and a few are only served in goblets. There was a refrigerator with beer to go, but I didn't look at what they were.

Correction: after my visit they have opened a second counter and there are 15 taps at times now, that's awesome!

They closed pretty early on a Saturday, 9pm. They do not have a kitchen so eat beforehand (or afterwards).

An interesting layout in an interesting location. The brewery/brewpub and newish biergartern are located right on 34th street, very near the cross street of Stone. The outside patio area is good size, with a considerable number of tables and chairs. Inside the pub, there are additional tables and chairs, along with some stadium type bench seats as well. There are two seperate bar areas in the pub, and on the day I was here, there was something like 15 or so beers on tap at each bar. Selection was superb, and included several versions of cowiche fresh hop, KDS, beer 1000, sister and brother IPA's, etc. The vibe is very informal and laid back, and the staff seemed quite friendly and knowledgeable. Prices were likewise pretty decent. Pints of most beers were in the $5 to $6 range , and with the KDS, you could get a 6, 8 or 12 ounce pour, priced at $4, $5 or $6 I believe. I don't think they do sample trays or glasses here.

As others have noted, the new brewpub and biergarten are child and dog friendly. Opinions are going differ as to whether this is something you're going to like or not. On the day I was here, I wasn't much bothered by the dog presence (some smelled like they were in need of a bath, but all of them were friendly and there were no fights). On the other hand, there were a number of small children playing with their toys on the floor of the inside pub, right where patrons were standing in line to get their beer. No one was hurt or injured from what I could tell, but I could easily see it happen. Also, while the dogs were all friendly on the day I was here, predictably, some owners actually placed their medium sized dogs on the tables to show them off to friends and other dog fans. Shrug. It is what it is. Customers can decide for themselves whether this is something that will keep them away or not.

Otherwise, this place is great, and the beer made by Fremont is uniformly excellent. I would add that in addition to the prefilled growlers and growler fill take out I saw, they also had a good size can and bottle retail selection going as well (4 packs of sisters DIPA were selling like hotcakes the day I was here). I'll certainly be back at some point.

This was a very close second favorite of mine out of all the breweries/brew pubs we visited during our Pacific NW trip (Russian River was #1). Since they expanded (and looks like they will continue to expand), it has turned into a very nice beer garden.

Outside is all community, beer garden type seating. Pets Welcome. It is all traditional tap room service getting pours at the bar. They only do full pours, but everything they had on tap was great, so I didn't mind. They also have pre-filled growlers to go as well as cans for sale. There were not any bottles on sale when I visited. It was a busy happy hour crowd, but they have several bartenders working, so any line that formed moved fast. No food, but they did have free pretzels.

Overall, this was a favorite of mine. Would be very happy to go back anytime.
