Appearance: Slightly hazed dark yellow-gold. Head is white and super creamy. Crazy high retention leaves a creamy, smooth cap and collar. Sheets and chunks of lacing. Minimal carbonation on the pour.
Smell: Very light. Some hints of citrus from the hops. Leafy with an underlying earthiness. Malts are lightly sweet and a touch bready. Soft yeast runs through the back adding some bubblegum,. banana, and lightly tropical (mango and peach). Some tangerine as well. Floral and mild across the board.
Taste: A nice blend of soft slightly powdery Belgian yeast and clean hops. Some leafy and floral elements coupled with a mellow orange, tangerine, grapefruit, peach, tropical thing. There's a surprising amount of depth to the hops, but it's all very mild. Malts are pale and clean, offering a touch of sweetness and a mildly bready finish. Yeast adds some clove, banana, and a touch of bubblegum to the back. Yeast is mellow to start, but ramps up a bit as it warms. Everything remains in balance. Slight graininess as well.
Mouthfeel: Silky smooth mediumish body with a moderate-light carbonation. Clean and easy drinking in spades.
Overall: Glad this made it through the Mayan apocalypse.
Hit a Maine Beer Co. pale ale with Allagash house yeast, and you get this beer. Carries the same silky smooth nature of all MBC beer and the Allagash influence gives is a refined edge.
