Notes/Commercial Description:
A tiny beautiful something showcases a new hop variety, El Dorado. We started playing around with this hop last year. We brewed a pilot batch with this hop exclusively and one with it blended with some of our other favorite Northwest varieties. In the end, we decided that the El Dorado had such a unique and interesting character on its own, so we decided to brew it as a “single hop” pale ale. The aroma and flavor offer intense candied orange and citrus zest. A touch of flaked oats provide a rounded, silky mouthfeel. And like our other hoppy offerings, tiny was brewed to finish dry and clean.

6/10/14 bottle date. Poured into pint glass.

A: Hazy golden straw color with a moderate amount of visible carbonation. Airy, bone white, one finger hear that leaves lace.

S: Light on the nose with a minor amount of hop resin that comes through as sweet grapefruit, pine, apricot, caramel. A tad bit grassy.

T: Grass, unsalted crackers. A hint of indistinguishable tart citrus. Not much malt coming through here and not much of a defined hop character.

M: Effervescent. Dry, almost tannin-like finish.

D: Extremely well made beer as with all MBC beers that I have had. The flavor profile is muted compared to MO and Peeper. Less complex hop profile. It's a solid beer with a dry finish and has the extremely clean and fresh flavors that I have come to enjoy in all of their beers. While this one is the least favorite of the MBC beers that I have tried, it is a another great example of the extremely high quality beers being made by this brewery.

Poured from a bottle into a glass. Moderate lacing, foam around the edges, some mapping of bubbles on top. Hazy.

Smell- fresh, fruity, very pleasant. Like the smell of the first few days of spring. Do I smell carmel too, or am I nuts?

Taste- Immediately fruity- grapefruit and orange peel with a moderate after taste of wheat. Very bright and uplifting taste. This would be a grade A beer to drink after doing yard work on a hot day. I don't think my taste buds are crazy, but I feel like there is some sort of vegetable related or plant like aftertaste?

Mouthfeel- very crisp and well carbonated.

Overall- Very surprised by how tasty this beer is. I haven't found myself motivated enough from many beers to type a review, but this one definitely stands out. Pleasantly fruity, but not super fruity or sweet. A perfect balance of different flavors and textures.
