A tiny beautiful something showcases a new hop variety, El Dorado. We started playing around with this hop last year. We brewed a pilot batch with this hop exclusively and one with it blended with some of our other favorite Northwest varieties. In the end, we decided that the El Dorado had such a unique and interesting character on its own, so we decided to brew it as a “single hop” pale ale. The aroma and flavor offer intense candied orange and citrus zest. A touch of flaked oats provide a rounded, silky mouthfeel. And like our other hoppy offerings, tiny was brewed to finish dry and clean.

Appearance: gorgeous bright citrus color with 3 finger head that is soft, luscious and pillowy.

Smell: Lots of tropical fruits, citrus, guava, pineapple, even a touch of proseco minerality.

Taste: medium-thick mouthfeel with bitterness playing a flavor dimension as opposed to making the beer "bitter". Not quite IPA like. more of an orange, tangerine feel. Alcohol is hidden too well.

I will have to say but I have had a lot of beers from the maine beer company portfolio and this is my favorite one without hesitation. The complexity, just the right amount of hoppiness, the clean finish is just absolutely unreal and unlike anything I have had in this category.

Drank two of these, sorry Wil one was meant for you...

Pale gold with frothy white foam that leaves plentiful lacing in the glass. Bright clarity and lasting head retention.

Aroma is the strong suit, aromatic and fruity, indistinct citrus and passionfruit.

Taste was less intense with more pale malt flavor coming through and an orange peel citrus flavor lending some bitterness in the aftertaste. Body was on the lighter side of things, easily drinkable but not all that substantial. Overall it was good but I'd prefer most other Maine APA/IPA's to this one. Still it's worth a try if you find a fresh one.

well, these guys just don't miss, so its no surprise this ranks among the best American pales I have had all year long. I could dessert island with this beer, its that good, and interesting, and drinkable. super pale shiny golden in color, crystal clear until the last inch or so in the bottle, and it holds an airy white head the whole drink. el dorado hops seem to always be used in combination with others, so my palate for them in isolation is undeveloped, but I really like what they do I the nose. I get a mild red pepper whiff, with bright orange and limey oils. kind of a neat complexion, but somewhat more fruity in the taste, with mango and grapefruit and even clover honey coming in successive waves. insanely light grain base, low alcohol, almost no residual sugar, all things I love and appreciate in the style, and that are executed brilliantly here. almost no bitterness at all, seems more about the subtleties of the hops than anything else, and they do a great job with that. cool they send beer down the Syracuse way now. thanks so much to my brother for saving this one for me. never had a beer from these guys that wasn't an A across the board. they rule!

pours pale orange with some golden cloudiness, nice thick fluffy off white 1 1/4" head. lasts a while then leaves a film on the beer and thick lacing on the glass.
smells peach, biscuit, some hint of strawberry, passion fruit ,pepper, mild spice, pale malt, yeast, hint of earth, can't wait...
well, it's tasty but doesn't live up to my expectations based on what i see and smell. pale malt, fruity hops, yeast, nice balance
feels, smooth, medium bodied, slight carbonation tingle, finishes slightly dry and yeasty
overall it's an interesting beer and the presentation makes it special, wish it had a little more something in the flavor, be it malt, hops, spice

Appearance: Golden color with a thick white head. Heavy lacing on the glass.

Smell: Pine, citrus, hops notes.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth light to medium bodied. Taste of light hops and pine notes with a hint of citrus.

Overall: Like always, Maine Brewing does not disappoint!

Poured from a bottle into a glass. Moderate lacing, foam around the edges, some mapping of bubbles on top. Hazy.

Smell- fresh, fruity, very pleasant. Like the smell of the first few days of spring. Do I smell carmel too, or am I nuts?

Taste- Immediately fruity- grapefruit and orange peel with a moderate after taste of wheat. Very bright and uplifting taste. This would be a grade A beer to drink after doing yard work on a hot day. I don't think my taste buds are crazy, but I feel like there is some sort of vegetable related or plant like aftertaste?

Mouthfeel- very crisp and well carbonated.

Overall- Very surprised by how tasty this beer is. I haven't found myself motivated enough from many beers to type a review, but this one definitely stands out. Pleasantly fruity, but not super fruity or sweet. A perfect balance of different flavors and textures.

Overall I really liked this beer. However, it is a really odd and interesting pale. Juicy as all get out, which is usually a good thing but it comes off as so different. I don't know what to make of it. Like Watered down orange juice or something. I'll need another one to write a better review . . . Or Another One would be nice too, maybe better.
